I vote for a classic, please.:D It's under way. So who will be champion of Iberia? -- Al

Lots of action and finally a goal. Espana 1-0. You could feel it coming. -- Al

Congrats to Spain for the hard fought win against a stubborn Portugal team. Now an outside chance at an all South American semi-finals, and final. -- Al

Well its not just Rooney then,Ronaldo had a very poor game.

Germany is not part of South America the last time I checked. Liked to be, maybe. :D

Interesting how few believe Germany is not a contender. I can not disagree, just surprised no one has them on the list. I enjoy their entertaining way to play.

I meant Semi finals....:p

Spain 1 Portugal-0...
Portugal game plan: defend and stop Spain's game and try the counter.Worked well for the 1st half, a few chances for Portugal, but overall more scoring chances for Spain, that totally controlled the game after the goal, Portugal didn't get any sniff of the Spanish goal from then on. Spain just passed the ball around and passed us out of the game::rolleyes:. Villa was tremendous, where will this great Spain team end?
I am proud of Portugal's goal keeperEduardo (remember that name, he has been one of the best keepers in this World Cup), great game and all heart for Portugal, crying at the end of the game, it was good to see Reina and Casillas, the Spanish keepers, embracing him at the end of the game. Ricardo Carvalho and Coentrão, the left back, are class acts
Ronaldo: lousy game, not very clever indeed, starting runs inside his own half and taking free kicks shooting at goal nearly from midfield:D, does he think he is Superman:D? He will be coached by Mourinho at Real Madrid this coming season, I am sure he'll learn a few useful things from the Master.
Overall I didn't like my team's style, too defensive and tactical, probably the coach felt that was the way to play and gamble against superior teams like Spain and Brazil (yes they are superior).
Congrats Spain and keep it up, I'll keep following your stylish football! Love Sergio Ramos, Xavi, Iniesta, and VILLA

Very pleased about the result. Will watch it on Chinese TV later.

Semis pick:

Spain v Brasil
Argentina v Uruguay

The dark horse in all of this is Uruguay, where I lived as a kid. I also lived in Spain and Brasil so I can't lose :)

Ronaldo, who is that?:D

Paulo

Aside from diving 3 times to earn free kicks (he got none) and a few harless, poor quality free kicks at goal, the most valuable football player in the world was almost invisible. He took up little space and hardly touched the ball.

Phantom, we meant THE Ronaldo....

Anyone got any semi-final predictions? Mine are South America goes in with Uruguay v. Brazil and Europe goes in with Germany v. Spain. Thus a S. America v. Europe final. Perfect. -- Al
