DROGAdona and CIA got beat badly....

it seems that for first time in 80 years of World Cup history, an European country will be able to win outside Europe...good progression...:D

The most one-sided quarter final so far.....even the Uruguay vs Ghana match (AET = 1:1, PSO = 4:2) was more keenly contested.

Germany look unstoppable. The octopus Oracle Paul seems to be getting it right.

Next Up: Spain vs Paraguay

Good Nite Folks, Raymond.:)

A big congratulations to Germany, really wanted you to win,you had a lot of support over here and you didn't just beat Argentina you thrashed them:D.A Spain v Germany final would be the icing on the cake for European football:).It would also be justice as Spain and Germany have easily been the best teams in the competition.

Rob

Spain clangs in the go ahead goal off the post after just hitting the post; their coach is Mr personality huh, camera shows him after the goal, he looks like he's at a hanging.

Enjoy yourself there coach, lighten up............

Agree for Germany but not Spain at all...Holland has a clean route 5 victories no defeat ...so Holland is the LESS bad team in this competition, and Germany will massacre Spain IMO...

icing on the cake for European football

European futebol really needed, because the others offered the WORTH representation I ever saw in WC history of the competition

Italy...last of the group
France...no need comments
England..lost as always

With suffering, but we're in the semisd"]

SPAIN-GERMANY:eek:

Wow, I can't believe what happened to Argentina. Couldn't play from behind.

We move on but against Germany it will be tough.

Predictions for the final: Spain v. Netherlands.

Wow, there's a stretch from you Brad, Spain in the finals.....:D

Really; after seeing how the Germans played today vs how Spain did; Spain has what, the most world cup wins without a title, correct, or did I hear that wrong?

If the Germans play like they did today, vs England and vs Austrlia, I can't see Spain beating them.

The Germans are peaking, their last two matches were pretty impressive, three matches where they scored 4 goals is pretty impressive for such a young team..................

For me Germany have been the best team in the competition, fluid, attacking, energetic football, they are and have been all that the other teams are not.Spain look good as do Holland, but who knows who will walk away with the trophy, football matches can turn in the blink of an eye,a penalty, sending off, late goal and all can change.

Absolutely agree, DEUTSCHLAND

The Argentina-Germany match was an absolute cracker, best match of the World Cup so far. Remember that the Argies tried everything and pinned Germany back for about half an hour, disrupting Germany's passing game, still the Germans killed the game with the second goal!
Germany has a TEAM and works like a real team, Argentina plays like 11 supremely talented individuals (which the Germans also have), with unparalelled fighting spirit (could you spare some of that spirit for Portugal:() but not like a real team.
Now from here on anything can happen, but I expect the Spanish defence to be harder on the Germans than the English or Argentine one.

Paulo

What a performance by the Germans, they are relentless, just keep attacking, they are poetry in motion, soccer at it's best, a joy to watch, no nil-nil winning on penalty kicks for this team.

Three strait trips to the semi finals at the World Cup and they are such a young team, their future looks very bright at the moment.....

It is funny how Soccer has changed over the years at this level. I remember not so long ago when it was all about marking the best players on the other team to shut them down. Argentina seemed to give the Germans free range of the field and the German star players took advantage of it.

Btw, Maradona had a reputation as a "Primadonna" as a player so I was surprised to see him running after balls that were kicked out near him, I doubt many professional coaches would do that. The guy has his faults but no one could say he isn't passionate about the game.

Couldn't agree more, and I am a futbol novice at best, but I know offense when I see it and the Germans are relentless.

Good luck Spain, you'll surely need it................

I shall stick my neck out and make my predictions.;)

SF 1: Netherlands vs Uruguay

SF 2: Germany vs Spain

Final: ? deja vu 1974

'Sad Maradonna now considering his future' oh dear my heart bleeds! Now he knows how we felt when he cheated his team to victory over us:rolleyes:

But a goal being called over the line by the ref is a world away from jumping in the air and punching the ball Rod,fairs fair.Whilst I respect your teams History no one has the right to think the Cup belongs to their part of the world, and I think your exit from this cup is leaving you with a sour taste that is warping your opinion of European football, especially my country for some reason. And you failed to actually say anything about his blatant punch of the ball, very odd.

Rob.
