March 25th 1865, General Gordon's Corps overruns Ft Stedman outside Petersburg in a pre-dawn assault in a desperate attempt to break Union siege lines. They approach Ft Haskell to complete the break through. Union musketry from the 100th Pennsylvania and canister from a three gun battery drive the assault columns back in deadly carnage. Chris

The Confederate army loses four thousand irreplaceable troops in the failed assault. This is Lee's final offensive of the war. Ahead lay Appomattox. Chris

Chris,

Your scene is outstanding! You did a wonderful job in staging the entire set up. You have a beautiful and vast array of ACW figures which makes the whole scene come to life. Excellent work.

Chris,
Wow, this looks great, not much more I can add to what has been said other than please keep them coming. I think this is my favorite out of all the ones you've done; attack/defense dioramas are my favorites and this one is right up that alley................

Many thanks for the kind remarks and like votes guys. I put this together in response to the replies from the Siege Battery post and Bob/UK Reb and George/Warrior's requests in particular for a combat scene. Chris

Chris...

that looks spectacular...

I love the artillery bunker and the extra touch on the plumes of smoke...

great detail!

"Terp152":

Splendid ACW diorama! Great photos! I have used snow blanket cotton pieces to simulate gun smoke as well, but I never thought of simulating the gun flash, well done!
