Thanks very much for showing us your Hicks Attwell dhow.

Do you have the Trophy dhow as well ?

Best Wishes, Raymond.:)

Hello Raymond,

Trophy dhow is much nicer from my point of you. Trophy made just very few of them and they are much more rare then any Trophy gunboat...

Martyn,

Thanks very much for sharing your 21st Lancer sets by Trophy and Dragon Crest. Excellent !!

The physical differences are obvious; the bases and the rifle scabbards etc.

More importantly, what is difference in the type of paint work for these two twin lines ?

Your Dragon Crest sets look very glossy. I was expecting a slightly more matte like finish.

Thanks, Raymond.

Hi Al,

Thanks very much for showing us your excellent Trophy dhow.

Likewise, I certainly prefer the Trophy over the Hicks Atwell.

I think the Trophy dhow looks more like the real thing.

Best Wishes, Raymond.:)

Hi Raymond

There is far more detailing on the DC model and it was only yesterday that I realised the Trophy lancer also had a spare pair of boots across his saddle

They are both different yet with similar characteristics.

Glad you like them

Cheers

The Holy Grail of Trophy stuff for sure.

Martyn,

As to the spare pair of boots across the saddle, I think applies to the 21st Lancers sets by DC rather than Trophy-Trophy.

And I was looking for a barefoot 21st Lancer......now that would be a unique set.:D

Hi Raymond

The lancer figures in Trophy and DC both have boots draped across the saddle. They are a part of the Trophy figure but attached to the saddle in the DC one.;)

Hi Martyn,

Thanks very much taking time to post the photos illustrating the differences between Trophy and Dragon Crest sets for the 21st Lancers.

This interesting observation of the spare boots is really new to me.

The Dragon Crest spare boots show great paint detail.

All the Best, Raymond.:)

Somehow "forgotten regiments" from Sudan campaign :

1. Royal Irish Rifles
2. Army Post Office Corps
3. Nubian Rifles

No problem at all Raymond, I never noticed the spare boots on the Trophy lancer when first setting out the set. Another interesting thing, there are no spare boots with the Bugler.

Martyn,

It is nice to have some variation in the sets as it makes collecting even more interesting.

Thanks again,

As an art historian that has to be one of my favorite sets. Now you just need a Victorian artist's studio set for it:)
