Thank the Lord I was inoculated against the camel collecting virus as a child. My grandparents spent three years in Cairo and brought me back enough brass camels (apparently the Egyptian version of the snow-globe) to fill a large lawyer's bookcase. When I moved away to college, I left them with my parents. Now I wonder how much I could've gotten for low grade brass at the scrap yard? I bet I could've paid for beer and pizza at least halfway through grad school.
