That's a great column Martyn. Always like pack animals, especially carrying broken down artillery pieces. Very nice. Robin.
 
Be careful Martyn, or Clive Gande is going to raid your house looking for more camels! LOL! Seriously though, great display!
 
Some great sets Martyn. Columns of more than two or three always look impressive.

Were those the Sudanese troops under the command of Hector McDonald whe made the brilliant maneuver when Kitchener, prematurely concluding the Battle of Omderman was won, ordered his forces into column to march into the city, and a group of Madhists hidden in a wahdi attacked the flank of the column?

Sudanese figures are hard to find. Wish I had a few more. What a lovely collection you have.

Yes Louis, they were part of Hector MacDonalds 1st Egyptian Brigade along with 10th Sudanese and 11th Sudanese Battalions

The one I have is the 1939 version...Super! I didn't know that the palace was in Young Winston. I cn't get the DVD in North American format, only PAL:eek:, still looking.
