You have inspired me to pushed ahead on my "Battle of Britain" diorama - I was thinking the same thing about a downed plane with this set.

I have bought a different 21st Century Plane and will work on mine couple of twists to it.

You have set the standard for all of us to try to catch - that is for sure !

I do love that new K&C figure release ! From what Andy has told me - we can expect even better releases in the future for FOB and Battle of Britain !

These new figures from K&C are really good,all are quality(the Home guard guy looks pretty old!)but i think my fave is the Policeman.I've had a life long interest in the Battle of Britain so this set is just what i've been waiting for,can't wait for the next in this series.

Thanks Ron thats very kind of you.Yes i made this on an old and slightly battered Winter Build-a-rama base.I gave it some earth coloured painting and then using products from JG Miniatures and Scenics i built it up.Thats why i mentioned Hob-e-Tac in your excellent Tree thread the other say,i'd just finished using it on this!

Who's Dowding, the copper or the HG? Something also tells me this particular Kraut has purposefully surrendered. He looks like a gent.

Thanks Mike thats very kind of you.Hugh Dowding was the man in charge of the RAF Fighters during the Battle of Britain.

1. Is it PC to refer to the Luftwaffe pilot as a Kraut (maybe the Mods could help here)?
2. Sir Hugh Dowding's vision and stubboness contributed to the allied victory over Nazi Germany.
3. I suggest you get hold of the dvd of the film Battle of Britain.
4. the 'gent' probably bombed my dad's chip shop.

You've come up trumps with this Rob, really nicely put together scene. Like the soil on the wings and flattened field, nice touch. I agree with you, the random bullet holes look more 'natural' than a neat row of them. I hope you were careful when playing with the matches.

The weathering on the ME109 looks cool too. Are you using L'Oreal for that? If so what shade - looks like 'Pearlescent Moonlight Silver', but can't be sure. Perhaps Ness could enlighten us.

Anyway, kudos due to you, because, you're worth it mate.

Thank you my friend i owe it all to you.Well to be fair the Tamiya make up was all my own,but thats my prob and i'm dealing with it!

Seriously though thanks Simon,its had such a nice reception and i am very pleased.The weathering with the powders was fun,you don't think i over did it?.I loved spraying the flattened hay with scenic cement,the glue comes out white and you think oh god i've ruined it all!.But then hey presto it dries clear.I think the figures are a tiny bit big but i can just get away with it.

I now want a 21st century FW190.

Excellent dio! I've been wondering about a good manufacturer of cheap war planes now that Corgi have dropped out of the 1/32nd market.

The scene looks alot like the photo from Duxford that we gave to Andy at the last but one Christmas show, maybe we could claim a little tiny bit of credit for the Big Man releasing this set.

Is that Pc 49 on the coppers collar by the way?

Thanks Glyn,it really does look like it doesn't it.I hope we influenced Andy a tiny bit.This is a great set of new figures that arrived at my door today.I finished the dio a while ago and have been waiting on the set to arrive.It is indeed C49 on his collar.
