First Legion is very pleased to present the first of our personality figures for our Seven Years War figure range, SYW021 Frederick the Great and SYW022 General Hans Joachim von Zieten!

SYW021 Frederick the Great - King of Prussia - $169.95
Special Collectors Set of 200
Frederick the Great was King of Prussia from 1740 - 1786 and was best known of his military genius and exploits along with his reorganization of the Prussian army. Like all great captains through history, Frederick was a serious student of military history and theory. Though he took part in the Silesian Wars in the 1740's, he is best known for his leadership of the Prussian Army in the Seven Years War from 1756 to 1763. Facing a powerful coalition made up of Austria, France, Russia, Sweden, and Saxony and with only England as an ally, he managed to repeatedly drive off invading armies and to keep Prussia in the war. Known for leading from the front, we have presented him here actively leading and inspiring his troops. One of the highest compliments paid to Frederick was that another great captain, Napoleon Bonaparte, called him the greatest tactical genius of all time. We sincerely hope you enjoy our rendition of him!

SYW022 General Hans Joachim von Zieten - $179.95
Special Collectors Set of 200
Hans Joachim von Zieten was a Lieutenant-General in the Prussian Army of the Seven Years War. He was one of Fredericks most trusted generals and served with distinction at numerous battles including the disaster at Kolin where his corps was the only victorious corps in the army. At Leuthen his cavarly initiated the attack and eventually drove the Austirans from the field. Though his career certainly had it's highs and lows, he retired a hero of Prussia. We sincerely hope you enjoy our rendition of this extremly colorful and highly detailed personality figure!

Don't know much about Zieten, but I can tell you that is one amazing figure. The paintwork is very well done, and that animal skin is truly superb!

Hi Guys ,
Just wondering if there is anyone who is as excited about this release as I am? This really is something I have been dreaming of for awhile and find myself really looking forward to their arrival. I was lucky enough to spend time in Potsdam last Sept to celebrate Fritz's 300th and have been really getting into the times more then normal as of late and with the looks of this line so far find myself re-evaluating my collection. regards Gebhard

I know that a few on Planet Figure forum are hoping they come out in kits.

Hi Gebhard.
I am most excited about these two fantastic figures as well. The "7 Years War" is the second FL line I am going to collect, and Old Fritz and the Baron von Ziethen will make the start next month.
Really looking forward to see them eye to eye soon.

Hi Konrad,
That's Great to hear {bravo}}, I always enjoy seeing your pictures and reading your comments on the other line you collect. These two figures really have me fired up not only do they look unbelievable but the thought of what will come next has me day dreaming. I recently picked up the other two pieces from Jenkins representing the Leuthen Churchyard as well which were just too cool to pass up. I'm trying to be patient for FL to release Grenadiers, Fusiliers and of course Garde figures would be cool as well and then there is Cavalry{eek3}{eek3}. I have come to know Matt pretty well over the past few years and know he won't let us hanging it just takes time. Alles Gute ! Gebhard

Hi Mark ,
Thanks for the post I have heard this from several people ..and I think you'll agree there are some of the most talented Artist in the world on that site who show their work there and for them to want to buy unfinished kits of First Legions figures is a true testament to just how good some of these sculpts are. These folks are just on another level , If you ever make it to one of the Shows where they display their works you will agree.. hey speaking of talented guys did you hear Rod won a GOLD Medal at the MFCA show :salute:: just incredible... a super cool and talented guy I'm really happy for him. I know If I had the talent of some of these folks I'd be on board with that as well but since that's not the case thank GOD I have First Legion to do the work for me. Next to special commissions and some of the high end figures coming from some of the studios in Russia I think FL do a bang up job for the price. regards Gebhard

Hi Gebs,
I agree about FL,They have expanded their WWII figures into 1/35 unpainted line and seem to be doing very well and now they are branching out into the 1/30 kit market.I don't know if these 2 figures will be available as kits but I think they would sell very well.Yes I know about Rod.He was a world class diorama maker and now a world class figure painter. He's an outstanding artist period.

Very tempting indeed but I will stick to Napoleonic's! Too many good releases from FL, too little room in my curio cabinets...

Hello Mark,
I think you are right, FL seems to want to enlarge his kits range!
Cheers

Lasalle,

Where did you copy this banner from? I checked both the FL website and Facebook page. It was not to be seen or at least I couldn't find it.

Kits would be a good thing as long as they still keep the numbers for painted releases the same. I could repaint some of their French infantry to be troops from Italy or maybe even to show the white uniforms used by the French for a short while. {sm3}Interesting !!!!

Arriving Friday {bravo}} boy have I been waiting for these two ... regards Gebhard

UPS Tracking shows On the Truck and out for Delivery {bravo}} yea I'm excited about getting my mitts on these :redface2:.

Ok guys, After spending several hours looking over these two all I can say is WOW {eek3}{eek3} They are absolutely incredible and I would say at the top of the list for BEST First Legion figures I have or have seen. Collectors interested in the period owe it to yourself to make these part of your collection even if you have no interest in Matte figures. I would do what I had to do to get this Frederick figure which IMO rivals or surpasses some high end Russian figures and Kit figures painted by some of the best out there as the best FdG figure ever. Oh and they are using new boxes with several new images one of which is the "Black Hussars" could they be next {eek3} WOW .. anyway GREAT GREAT GREAT figures .. regards Gebhard

Hello Geb,
Thanks a lot for your feedback concerning your last purchases, my favorite figure is Von Zitten! I'm very tempted to buy a set even I'am not feel very comfortable with this historical period.
I will be very happy to see images of these new sets!
Best regards
Xavier
