Hi Guys,

Here’s another little preview of one of my favourite post WW2 tanks... the ubiquitous Soviet-designed ‘T54/55 Main Battle Tank’.

Produced in huge numbers these tanks were supplied to Soviet-bloc nations and Soviet-sympathising countries in the Middle and Far Eat including Egypt, Syria and, of course North Vietnam.

These T54/55 tanks eventually became the most produced tank in history with estimated production numbers ranging from 86,000 – 100,000 vehicles.

K&C will produce both Syrian and NVA examples in the coming months.

So, while we’re working on these here’s a little ‘look-see’ at the work in progress...

Well done, Andy! Incredible detailing on the T-55!

This isn't my area of collecting interest but, this might change.{sm4}

Yes that should give the the Israeli armour some target practice ! :salute::

Of course now we'll need ARVN M41 Walker Bulldog's released to try and stem the flood of NVA armour sweeping down Highway 1, Andy ! {sm4}

Don't want to sound like a grinch. But armor was very and I mean very rarely used by N. Vietnam during the U.S. involvement in the war. After the withdrawl of U.S. troops in the 70's and after the South had only there ground forces did the North employ armor.
 
I'm a 'tank nut', big or small I like them all so been enjoying the release of some of these post WW2 models......^&grin

Also appreciate all the info and history that surround these releases and members knowledge.

Offhand I can only think of a couple of times, both being attacks on SF camps, Lang Vei where the camp was overrun and Ben Het, which I think is the only US /NVA tank on tank confrontation, where M48's saw off PT76's. Though I'm sure someone else will be able to come up with other appearances of NVA armour and of course will be great for anyone doing dioramas of after US and Allies withdraw.

Plus you never know with what with K&C venturing more into post WW2 conflict (The retired Iraq / Afganistan range, the current IDF, Vietnam and forthcoming Falklands ranges) Andy may someday decide to come out with a Cold War range if he thinks there would be enough interest could be a whole line of Soviet Bloc armour !

Yes tanks were used at Lang Vei but I believe those were light tanks, not sure what type.

Battle Of Spl Forces Base at Lang Vei - 7 Feb 1968 NVA used 9 x PT-76. The Base was Overrun.

Battle Of Spl Forces Base at Ben Het - 23 Jun 1969 NVA used 10 x PT-76 (2 Knock Out) and 1 x BTR050 APC Knock Out. U.S. Defenders had 2 x M-48 Tanks, 1 was damaged and 2 x Crewmen KIA

Andy bloody ripper .&nbsp; &nbsp;PT76&nbsp; would also be great .&nbsp; &nbsp;But what is missing is the US supplied Armour&nbsp; &nbsp;M41 , M48A3&nbsp; M109 . I have been nagging on the M48&nbsp; for a couple of years&nbsp; now . Howard after ten years got his Cent I reckon I can nag for ten on the M48. Any way looks brilliant&nbsp;<br><br>Damian<br><br>

It looks superb from the tracks up but when is K&C going to enter the 21st century on their tracks????
For the price, this will go for it isn't acceptable to say they are full of mud or it makes them stronger in shipping.
I know this will ruffle feathers and Andy will get upset at my comments BUT it is a Toy soldier forum and if something is posted on here we are all entitled to our opinions.
If that's is Going to be K&C style fine but I won't be buying anymore tracked vehicles off of them, and believe me I have a few the new Jap truck looks amazing, and the figures and come forward in leaps and bounds but these old tracks IMHO are outdated sorry to say.
