TGM @ the London show (3 Viewers)

I think the announcement of this range has kind of slipped under the radar IMO. Had K&C or figarti et al done this with the scope and possibility there would be hundereds of posts already saying how good an idea it was.

Naughty fourties has amazing possibilities and, for collectors wanting to add depth to dio's and collections or a new collection its brilliant. The thought of Home guard has me thinking of some great dio's I have wanted to make but, not had the tools in terms of figures to do.
Mitch

Thing is, a range of the Home front offers up so many sets that could be made. As well as a wealth of different civvies you could have Home Guard, ARP, Police, Firefighters, kids in Gas masks, foreign Soldiers, the list goes on. Whoever makes such a range as this will have my money, the Home front has always been as much of interest to me as the Battle fronts.

Rob

I'm thinking of a Home guard platoon on parade would be a great deviation from the stuff thats released and, as you say ARP etc would be a great Home front range to support things like the RAF range. Thinking outside the box and very innovative IMO

Would be great wouldn't it Mitch, I hope between TGM and K&C we will get a nice mix of Home front sets, I think its a big theme just waiting to be tapped.

The "Naughty Sixties" would be much more colorful. How about a Woodstock diorama?:tongue::tongue:

Seriously and with no offense meant, sounds a little boring (Naughty Forties).
With those great horse sculpts I think a regiment of Napoleonic cavalry and more NAPS in general would sell very well.
No matter what TGM produces I am sure the quality will be super!

Boring?? I think its a breath of fresh air and, many have called for civillian and non action poses and, I think this is the best announcement for the hobby in a long time.
Mitch

A great idea for a Home Guard/ARP range and I agree non-military figures is a breath of "fresh-air".

If you want civilians and non-action poses may I suggest model railroading or doll houses. Real men want action poses and battle scenes!^&grin

Just kidding guys!!!! We all have different tastes and interests.
I would prefer soldiers in construction, maintenance and medical poses for behind the lines dioramas.:tongue:

What will they have on display???
Im hoping the new 190 and there first vehicle and a surprise or 2!!

I'm quite anxious to see what TG will unveil at the show. If anyone gets a chance, please shoot and post a pic or two for those of us who can't be there. It would be greatly appreciated :) Thanks!

Have you seen the range of figures made by ASSETT from UK that have Home Guard, ARP and such?

They are 54mm, finished in gloss, but also avaiable in castings, so can be finished in matte, if you like.

Here is one I painted for my Auntie in UK who was in the AFS Auxiliary Fire Service during the Blitz on London in 1940.

You can see a listing of the figures in the catalog on Assett's website http://www.assetminiatures.co.uk/index2.html

They are usually at the London Toy Sholdier Show, on next weekend, but its a bit far for you to go :) Good value though, I've been twice in the past few years, all the way from OZ.

Its great to see that Tom is going a step further with his new range and making the more deatiled and finely painted figures.

You can't separate civilians from warfare. Having them in certain dioramas is refreshing - K&C's recent refugees, Volkssturm, cheering crowds for Berlin '38 and LOJ figures provide a lot of new opportunities for collectors.

But like you I crave for more soldiers in behind the lines activities. The more the merier!

Cheers Gents,

I plan on using the King & Country FOB061-For-You-Fritz-The-war-is-over set with the TGM FW-190 Arnim Faber version with the captured German flyer starring as Faber on my RAF diorama airfield with a lot of the RAF lads looking on of course. Should be fun-actually, it will be fun! He does look a little confused and the chap to his right is ready for the amazing story!

Tally Ho,
Marc

We have plenty of ideas for the NF range, some more tamer than others I have to admit! If the collectors support us then we will produce a big variety of risque and not so risque figures, then you can buy what your conscience allows you! The great thing about this range is you can put all types of military and non military personnel from all over the world in it, all having one big party together if you like!
If you look in the workshop you will see the B version 'Pearl Harbour 1940' of this range and the A version 'New York 1940' on the QM page, although both these figures could be based anywhere in the world around that time.
All sales of the NF range are treated in strictest confidence and no wives or girlfriends will be informed!
Over and out!
Tom

Cheers Tom,

I love the new line but please no pilot & nurse love sets under parachutes, etc. as I am still traumatized from that massacred/tainted/twisted Ben Affleck Pearl Harbor film especially that scene even though it was the other Yank! I will admit I was still entertained with some of the overly exaggerated flight sequences though. On a final note, keep up the great work as I enjoy having your scale historical art proudly displayed in my collection!

Best Regards,
Marc

Re: TGM @ the London show Censored version

Great pictures and great dio. probably gonna see a lot more flesh from the naughty fourties. Did the AE line from K&C not have topless dancers??? did that offend anyone???
Mitch

They sure did Mitch and you won't find them on the TF website either. Whether they sell them I do not know.

Nudity, real or in toy soldier form is not permitted.

did you both see the picture of the drinking soldiers I posted?

really would like to see those in a range.

Counting on Thomas to make them

thebritfarmer...

Thanks I did not know that. Its not something that springs to mind when thinking of toy soldiers.
