Thanks Andy! (3 Viewers)

Very very interesting comments on the LAH series.
Coming from asia, i find myself unable to collect anything depicting the japanese army during ww2.
I am more sensitive then most, so not even battle scenes that have anything to do with the japanese army.

for those that who have reservations against the LAH series, I totally understand.
Personally i am not critical to collectors who collects LAH and not even any ww2 japanese army collectables/minis/action figures etc....

Regarding LAH, personally I tend to keep an open mind.
It is history, its a collectable and yes, under the guidance of K&C, it had become a **** fine piece of display art!!!
;)

yup i agree with Mike's sentiment.

WW2 Japs is a no go zone (except Kamikaze pilots)

I reckon there would be plenty of people that include those guys

it might sound offensive but i have a fascination of Kamikaze pilots.

i categorized their actions of tragic bravery, bred from utter desperation.

I even read that the Japanese had prepared Kamikaze 1 man submarine vessels.

But thank God, the A bomb came and ended the war.

Nasir,i don't think anyone on here would think it offensive you have an interest in Kamikase pilots. Its just one of many many aspects of military History,we all are different and all have different interests.

Back on the thread,i really do think the KT could possibly be the best Tank Andy has made so far.And the Schwimm and stretcher party are also must haves.

Thanks Rob,

the bitterness of the harsh Japanese occupation still lingers deep, so forgive me if i go overboard.

Hi Rob, I didn't actually say that, and here's the transcript for the jury ;)

Of course, I have given my personal opinions on a wide range of topics on the forum. But I don't make a habit of posting zealous generalisations. Have you ever done that do you think Rob?

Nasir, I have no strong feelings about who should collect what. However some forum members have made negative comments about me collecting LAH sets which is why I suggested Kamakazi sets would not be popular with all members.

Yeah only kidding Oz,it was probably justified anyway!;)

Speaking for myself, even though i don't collect LAH i would not condemn anyone who does, each to their own i say.It sure would be boring if we all collected excactly the same thing.:)

I have to admit I do sometimes get bored with stuff I have collected and end up selling or swapping for other sets. But at least that's one way for me to keep up my interest.

I often come very close to starting a new line like Napoleonics or WW1,or returning to my Zulu collection, but somehow WW2 won't let me go!

:D :D :D

This is funny stuff. At least you didn't have Vader saying "Come over to the dark side of collecting." Well, I guess that would apply more to LAH.

I resisted anything but Civil War for years - completely. Then I decided to expand a few months ago - now several tanks, landing craft, AWI soldiers, a couple of Napleonics (yes, I wish I could afford to do many more of those as well) later, I am running out of room in the new display case and trying to hide new tanks from my wife's eyes. It is evil, I tell you, evil,, but I do love it!!:D

Matt, i understand what you mean.

While in this forum we share information, banter, jokes and prods, at the end of the day, what we all collect are our own personal choice, resulting from our personal tastes and style.

We can point out if a figure has wrong uniform, or the vehicle has the wrong size or colour. But no one could point that another member is wrong to collect something.

LAH and Kamikaze might not be the most palatable series, and some will say they are simply glorification of evil.

let me just say, that i can only safely collect sets like these, by the simple fact that both lost the war.

i never ever lost that perspective.

sincerely,

nasir kasmani.

I am really suprised that there is so little interest in the Pacific theater.Maybe it's because it has more of a Naval flavor to it.I understand the feelings of our asian brothers even though I can't fully comprehend the true horrors their countries went through. My interest in the Japanese Army arises from the Russo-Japanese War through WWII.I've read a lot about Japan and what amazes me is how they went from very honorable soldiers to barbaric monsters in less than 40 years. The young honorable officers of the RJ war became the war criminals of WWII but I do respect the courage and combat skills of the average soldier. The Japanese developed a great contempt for the western countries and wanted to prove they were as every bit as good as the west.
