A little something special for you WWII guys. First Legion is pleased to present our latest expansion to our WWII figure range.

The Battle of Normandy

Please note that we do not consider this a new "range" and thus there are still three new ranges to be announced later this year!

Enjoy!

Best,

Matt

OMG!!!!!! I am doooooooomed. Absolutely stunning! I have been waiting for the west and it is finally here! To top it off its US Paras another weak spot for me. {bravo}}{bravo}} great job FL

Well, this is certainly going to make a lot of people happy. Fantastic looking figures. -- Al

Hope to see buildings in this range!
Thanks again Matt for these wonderful figures

These are, without a doubt, the best looking Normandy paratrooper miniatures I have seen. I am particularly happy with the small arms (M1, M1A1 carbine and Thompson). Unlike other manyfacturers, they look in scale with the figures -- neither grossly oversized, nor dainty. One hint though on finishing US small arms -- on Normandy the metal finish on them should not show too much wear. It is my understading that most troops were issued new small arms in the marshalling areas and were given an opportunity to zero them, so on D-Day the weapons were basically brand new. The gray (or in the case of the M1 Garand, Gray-green) parkerizing on US small arms is pretty indestructable.

All of that of course is minor and I'm sure artistic license would permit some wear. I certainly don't want to make this into a "Sharps vs Spencer" controversy like we had on Buford's cavalry. I will certainly be buying most of these figures.

Can't wait to see what follows: Troopers armed with M3 Grease guns, Bazookas, 60mm mortars, M1919A6 machine guins? Perhaps a 6 il AT gun (the US airborne troops used the Briitish Airborne 6 pounder, rather than the US 57mm) or a 75mm pack howitzer? Certainly a jeep.

Wouldn't mind seeing the British side of the field as well -- maybe we can do Pegasus Bridge -- would love to see figures of John Howard, Lord Lovat and Bill Millen that looked like the real people, not some movie verson.

Overall, I am a happy camper!

beautiful!

Looking fwd to the fallschirmjagers and 12th SS hitlerjugends

Actually the SS troops that the 101st faced at "Bloody Gulch" were the 17th SS Panzer Grenadier Division "Gotz von Berlichingen", somtimes called the LMA division (I will leave it to you to Google that -- this is a family site. LOL)

This was the same Waffen SS division that was involved in a fight with a lost company of troopers from the 82nd at the village of Graignes the previous day, and the subsequent burning of the town.

I had a feeling these were coming, given some of Matt's hints. They look great and are a perfect way to kick off the Western Front.

Wow............................I wish these came out about 2 months ago so we could have used them in our Great Crusade.......Episode IV we just released was the Battle of Normady.......How frustrating.........OH well, we will work them into a future episode one way or another though.

This is a very exciting development. As a huge collector of the WWII "ETO" I've been wondering when we were going to see the Western Allies (which are more my interest than the Soviets). If the Western Allies get the same treatment as the Soviets then this might be the most exciting development in the industry in my recent memory! Thinking about the camoflage on those SS troopers done the FL way is very intriguing too. Can't wait!

Where is Sammy ^&confuse^&confuse he is gonna go nuts . Gebhard

These 101st Airborne are some really nice looking figures {bravo}}
And that comes from a collector who never ever had any interest in a WWII subject :wink2:
But these U.S. troops look great.

Delighted that FL have decided to open a Normandy front! An excellent way to start the collection by releasing para models first - as they were the first allied troops to land in Normandy. The FL"mega newsletter" refers to anglo-americans so perhaps British Red Berets will appear not long after their US comrades-in-arms. Hopefully by the time the 70th anniversary celebrations come along in June 2014 this collection should have built up a good head of steam.

Being one of the WWII guys, I really appreciate these new figures Matt. They do indeed look outstanding. Thanks for doing them and I'm looking forward to more WWII in the future.

Kind of surprised that there isn't more chatter about the new First Legion Normandy Paras? there has been so much discussion in the past from many forum members about when and if First Legion would do some sort of ETO at some point, well they are finally here!!!! I finally had time to get a really good look at these Paras after returning from vacation and again I find them stunning, the small detail/painting/ and overall scultps are spot on and already thinking of future dios!! once again I give a big thanks to First legion for releasing this line for us WWII collectors, now when do we get a Sherman?:)...Sammy
