These are, without a doubt, the best looking Normandy paratrooper miniatures I have seen. I am particularly happy with the small arms (M1, M1A1 carbine and Thompson). Unlike other manyfacturers, they look in scale with the figures -- neither grossly oversized, nor dainty. One hint though on finishing US small arms -- on Normandy the metal finish on them should not show too much wear. It is my understading that most troops were issued new small arms in the marshalling areas and were given an opportunity to zero them, so on D-Day the weapons were basically brand new. The gray (or in the case of the M1 Garand, Gray-green) parkerizing on US small arms is pretty indestructable.
All of that of course is minor and I'm sure artistic license would permit some wear. I certainly don't want to make this into a "Sharps vs Spencer" controversy like we had on Buford's cavalry. I will certainly be buying most of these figures.
Can't wait to see what follows: Troopers armed with M3 Grease guns, Bazookas, 60mm mortars, M1919A6 machine guins? Perhaps a 6 il AT gun (the US airborne troops used the Briitish Airborne 6 pounder, rather than the US 57mm) or a 75mm pack howitzer? Certainly a jeep.
Wouldn't mind seeing the British side of the field as well -- maybe we can do Pegasus Bridge -- would love to see figures of John Howard, Lord Lovat and Bill Millen that looked like the real people, not some movie verson.
Overall, I am a happy camper!
