The Huge Popularity of Zulu War Figures (1 Viewer)

In reply to some of the emails I've received, I deleted several posts in an attempt to get what is a very interesting thread back on track. Any references or comments that related back to the original post that got this thread off track were deleted. If I deleted more than was necessary you have my apologies. However, the thread needed moderation.

Sorry I upset the thread guys. When I noted my precious WWII was being challenged I guess I went off on a tangent, but aren't some of the off topic posts some of the best on this forum ;)

Brad

Does the above mean I can now come out of my bunker  for when the grenades started being lobbed Reb left the building utterly bemused in what I thought would be possibly an interesting but also completely innocent topic-I asked for members thoughts on my comments and the majority of you posted some really interesting replies and I thank those for that.

The Zulu war figures are extremely popular and that popularity is growing all the time especially here in the UK and across Europe and not just Britain's but all the other manufacturers who appear to be increasing their releases of more AZW figures each year and the new manufacturers entering the arena (Collectors Showcase and hopefully Conte with their new updated figures). As I said in my OP there is no doubt that Joe has almost single handedly raised quite an awareness here on the forum of the different range of figures as I for one was completely unaware of all the series that had been released until I saw Joe's pictures. Thanks for that Joe!

There are some real thought provoking comments here now on this thread on why this little colonial war garners such interest year after year. Whether it's the Zulu films (Crikey even my dear old Mum thoroughly enjoyed it umpteen times) or the plethora of books on the war I suppose is irrelevant because as can be seen by most of the posters on here-it's just darn popular

Bob,

You can indeed come out of your bunker and take of your helmet because the bombs and brick a brats that were raining down on others are now raining down on me. However, I am well prepared with my pith helmet.

I will probably need to visit this place.

Thanks Brad-Gee that fresh air smells good :D

Your link is amazing-Are you a fan?
Amazing because I went to see them last year at the O2 Arena in London-Absolutely brilliant although I cannot take full credit for suggesting we go to the gig as Mrs Reb is their numero uno Brit fan-consequently it was a category A muster ;)

Bob,

That is an amazing video. I have become a fan recently and mentioned it here.

Cheers,

For me it's Michael Caine..............not a lot of people know that.

For me it's Nigel Green (Colour Sgt. Frank Bourne) who I have claimed as a relation - of course he's no longer around to deny the rumor :D

I think the popularity surge is due to Michael Caines' magnificent debut, Joes' ceaseless and undying faithfulness to the cause, and finally Treefrog Forum.:D

I now have to go watch Zulu Dawn now. All this talk has made me want to watch it. Zulu tomorrow night.:D:D:D

Seeing the beginning of ZD, it came to me it might be all those very young scantily clad native women?

And some of the Hero's of the Thread My Lord General.........The Lt.
