Rob...

Thanks for the info. A good choice. Glad I could help. I think dio and paint wise I must have saved hundereds of hours with the introduction of the washes and pigments. I think it worked very well and have some pics somewhere of a panther knocked out and you have done your dio justice.
Look forward to the next set of pics

And the hits keep coming!:) Great shots, Rob. More, please!:D

WOW Rob!! Stellar work! I have a serious case of diorama envy:eek::p. You must have had a blast creating that scene.....a flat out masterpiece. I love the destroyed tank in the background. Great depth and vison; thanks for sharing your skills with us. I really love this hobby of ours:).

Joe

Thanks guys.

Joe,thanks mate, I did indeed have a lot of fun creating this dio. I'd never used pigments before so that was new, it did seem almost criminal blacking up a perfectly good Tank for the scene, but I had an idea in my head and hope it would work out. I must also really recommend Woodland scenics tall grasses, really good to work with and produce a very pleasing result. Thanks again Joe, much appreciated, all these posts from my fellow collectors is so encouraging it makes me want to have another go.:)

Normandy 8th August 1944

Tank ace Michael Wittman receives a grim warning of what awaits him as he makes his way to his fate and a meeting with Joe Ekin and his new Firefly. Technology and sheer numbers are making aces like Wittman an endangered species in Normandy, an ace with hundreds of kills under his belt is about to be killed by a relative novice with just three shots fired in anger, but the tide is turning against Germany now, and both Wittman and Germany are entering end game.

Great pics, that diorama base is indeed very versatile. We could use an new SL Normandy Tiger! ;) That Panzer Meyer halftrack is one cool piece, don't hear much about it though.

Cheers CFM, the Meyer set is indeed an interesting release and a very good set,but as you say it doesn't seem to get mentioned much, I added the Bobby Woll club figure for effect and I think he fits in ok.

The Panzer Meyer set is one of my favorite K&C sets, along with General Inspection. It took me almost a year to grab one at a good price.
