I just found this thread- does anyone know where I could find one of these sets?
Also, check out this song:

Glad you like the thread :salute::

If you would like the set of figures you need to contact Mike at Little Legion Toy Soldiers, he produced them for me. If you would just like the figure of Major Wilson you should contact Martin Tabony who is a member of the Forum

Here is my copy of the song, I have it on my jukebox

This is what I love about collecting and this forum. I have never heard of the shangani patrol before and now I can go spend the day reading about it. Even as a history major in college, the azw and boer wars (and most anything in Africa) just weren't covered.

Martyn, as I said before, beautiful set up. I love history's desperate fights. BTW, is Rhodesia named after Cecil Rhodes? And again, your Trophy & Little Legion collection of the British Empire is always impressive to view.

Many thanks Go for Broke :salute:: Rhodesia was indeed named after Cecil Rhodes :salute::

Martyn, good to see your custom dio again. Heroic, against all odds, die to the last man fight.

Heroic? I read in the thread:"At one stage in the fight the Matabele said they had offered the white men their lives provided they laid down their arms and surrendered. Their offer was scornfully rejected."

The Brits invaded and colonized their land with a modern army.

Heroic is the one who defends his land, so I would call heroic the Matabele instead.

Wouldn't expect any other comment from you Popoff :rolleyes2: ^&grin^&grin^&grin

The sets are really beautiful. As well as the boer war, great pieces indeed!:salute::
