The New Collector Magazine is on the website! (1 Viewer)

My point was that it wasn't just an insider circle as it includes Rick Wang and Ken Osen. Although some of the people in there may be very friendly with Andy, I don't believe you can say that about these two gentlemen.

Also, who are the people you think are the "insider circle"?

Rick likes Andy, at least he has said so on numerous occassions. I didn't see Brian from Collector's Showcase or Matt from First Legion in that issue.

Most of the people in that issue were part of the "insider circle". That's why they got picked.

Can you please answer the question. Who are the specific people you to whom you keep referring?

Louis, Brad, and Ron are deserving as big KC supporters. That makes sense since this is a KC advertising magazine. I tend to agree with CS though that the random selection story is "bullocks." Most likely that is to save face with collectors who were excluded due to space limitations. If KC had fessed up to some misleading advertisements relating to the RJ and WWI armored car I might give them the benefit of the doubt, but fool me once...

I wonder.....when these folks go into a restaurant do they order food they hate......so they can complain?

Most of the food is great, if a little overdone at times. What I don't like is the exclusive country club atmopshere at this particular restaurant.

I have it on good authority that Harry's career guidance teacher at high school advised him to go into teh diplomatic service of Her Majesty. He said and I quote from the school report

"Young Harold has a fine command of the English language and impeccable interpersonal skills. His ability to to sum a situation and to win opponenst round to his point of view, whilst mantaining their repsect love and friendship is legendary. I would see him making a wonderful ambassador and diplomat"

Hi guys,

We, of course, are never pleased to see any of our collectors upset about their lack of inclusion in one of our projects. To be frank, the sole purpose of this special issue of ‘COLLECTOR’ was to celebrate our company’s 25th anniversary and to highlight our role in this exciting hobby. To those who have been offended by the internal editorial process of this free King & Country publication, then please accept our apologies.

I might suggest that all of our readers (and Treefrog members) take this magazine for what it is… an interesting collection of articles written about King & Country by a large group of collectors, industry insiders and dealers... and leave it at that.

As for the personal comments made towards Andy, I will leave those for him to address.

Hullo Andy,

Not much else to do at the moment - other than "stir the porridge", as usual. ;)
(A fine old Scottish tradition, that goes back for centuries - for those who don't know).
Would've thought you would've sussed that one.
Love’n’kisses back an'all!

So YOU were the one who stole my school report all those years ago...!!!
For shame....no wonder I could never find it.

PS. Forgot to mention. At £6 a pop for a single bottle of beer - nae kiddin' - £6, (and I am after all a somewhat "captive" audience in this place), I don't actually frequent the bar/restaurant in my hotel as much as I try and make out. Can't find any Buckfast in this toon either, so mixing up some electric soup is a rather difficult and expensive task.....sigh.
Will get a cash advance from our agents in PHC later today though, so perhaps Cinderella shall go to the Ball tonight....maybe see if I can't plant a few more timebombs.

I read the entire magazine online a few days ago and I can't see what all the fuss is about. No matter who was picked for a contribution there was always going to be some people who thought they were hard done by being left out. However I will say that not being 100% positive doesn't mean you aren't 100% passionate.

Your understanding about K&C and K&C UK is some what lacking.

Brad pointed out the main one!!!

Yes we use K&C in our title this is because my father who at the time of being made redundant as sales Director of a very large UK firm could see the potential in the product Andy had brought to the market at the time. Therefore had agreed that this could be done......infact we are OPERATION UK Ltd TA King & Country UK, TA The Toy Soldier Show London, TA Toy Soldier TV

However my father has by means of some very hard work, sacrifice and god dam grit stuck with what he believed and worked from one bedroom and a delivery of three carrier bags to where we are now in two warehouses, and on average a 'ton' of K&C delivered every ten days. (and mother)

Yes he is very good friends........my father says best friends. However now working direct with Andy on the Crimean range this guy breaths and eats toy soldiers and when ever we do the show in London he asks how did it go how were the other traders......ie interested in the hobby.

Your quotes dip in and out of direct points to Andy and if they were about the other contributers to the magazine which is a K&C magazine then you did not make this clear. its there and i have read it a few times and most defiantly in the wrong context if thats not what you meant.

To me the development of all the manufactures that appear in the world today are making the hobby better and better. the ones in the collector have a direct link at some point to K&C, another reason why they should be asked!

it also a bit of a 'no brainer' to me the collector is a magazine that is dealt through K&C and K&C dealers therefore intended for K&C collectors. If you don't collect K&C or you don't like Andy of K&C then why read it.

I read as many threads as possible in the forum and with my TSTV hat on i talk to a lot of the manufactures. Which by the way you need to look at the site again as you must have missed all the interviews with Britain's, TM Terrain talking about First Legion, Clive talking about Figarti, John Gittens talking all things JG, Scarlett and Gold talking about his range!!!
yes i have access to K&C office and a brother who lives in HK so i am going to take advantage.

I also met with Gerard from Frontline (films on soon) i met with John Jenkins who we did not film but have discussed the future, i spoke with Ken from East of India. I have e-mail communication with Rick Berry Old North West, Matt from First Legion, Richard from Britain's.

Take another look around the site you might find it interesting!

And come on its going to be an all hugs and kisses edition as your not going to see any one writing in it that is not going to pump K&C!!!! This is also why i mentioned the involvement and commitment to the hobby with the two other activities that i do............it DOES allow me to be impartial to events.

:D:D:D Remember Game for a Laugh with Jeremy Beadle, Henry Kelly and Sarah Kennedy, and he would hand out a "gotcha" award :D:D Looks like you'll have to send a 'Heid' Gotcha to Andy and Praetorian:D:D

Wot..?? Little Innocent Me..??

Noo Wood Eye..?? :D:D:D
You would've thought that awarding 5 stars for this particulary entertaining thread, or doing my rant all in upper case, which is completely unlike my normal (?) posts, would've given the game away.

Tony, I don't agree you are impartial but I will say you did an absolutely fantastic job covering OTSN last year, providing balanced coverage of K&C's competitors, especially Figarti. I think it's a bit like the US television network ABC is actually owned by the same company as Disney - you can trust their nightly news to do a good job reporting on the world's events but they aren't the first place to go to hear about issues with Disney itself. I think you're a cool guy and I don't doubt your passion and commitment to the hobby (and I have no problem whatsoever with you writing an article in the magazine), but let's not kid ourselves where your ultimate allegiances lie.

To those who have been offended by the internal editorial process of this free King & Country publication, then please accept our apologies.

Finally. THIS is the kind of customer service response I like to see from companies I buy from. If you tick off your customers or associates, you say you’re sorry. Plain and simple. You DO NOT lie to them or treat them like Kindergarten students. You DO NOT put them down or call them out. You DO NOT elevate one customer or associate above another. You treat ALL of your customers EQUALLY (from the biggest to the smallest) and so you apologize. Because even if you don’t fully understand the reason why someone is displeased, chances are, there’s a bunch of other people who feel the exact same way. So how you treat your most insignificant customer reflects strongly on how you treat ALL your customers. Peace out.

Can you just imagine, you start up a company spend 25 years risking your

personal fortune, self respect, and all your efforts just to be informed that

you had better be ready to apologize if some "Pinoke" feel slighted when you

publish your story.

All I can say to Andy is follow the rules of the Zoo.

"Don't Feed the Monkeys":D

I'll show my support for K&C with my wallet.

i guess your view and if you have never met me or my family and been to the very Impartial London show and seen how we operate, or seen the amount of time and effort that goes into TSTV and also the cost in meeting other manafactures on their turf in HK. Promoting OTHER dealers on my site then i guess that will be your opinion! your intitled to it!

It's not Andy's story that is slighting me or many others in the least, and you know it. And please stop the juvenile name calling. It doesn't advance your cause in the slightest, and in fact, it illustrates my entire point for me.
