From the London Show thread it can be seen that I took the plunge and purchased something that I have admired for the last year. The biggest Red Box ever. :wink2: ^&grin

Simply – an awesome example of model making and will be the centrepiece of my soldier collection.

I will be having made a display case and base to house this beast.

Until then here are a few photos.

Wonderful, you're lucky you live on the other side of the world otherwise Jack would be lurking around that boat waiting for a chance to sail it away to Oz.
Wayne.

Cheers

Rob

Beautiful craftsmanship.Would have to be the centerpiece of anybody's collection.

Excellent Jeff, knew you would love it {bravo}}....now time to experiment with those other figures of yours :salute::

Cheers

Martyn:)

Very nice Jeff, congrats on a fantastic acquisition ..... looks great right where it is. Ya know, as Martyn has demonstrated elsewhere on the forum, that gunboat looks pretty darned good with a crew of LL Naval Brigade figures too ..... just a thought in case you find that those matte finish figures, as nice as they are, don't quite have enough of a shine !^&grin

Looking forward to seeing you at play with it Jeff.........Joe

It's a beauty, not just the boat but each figure. Congrats:wink2:.

Jeff

I am relieved and pleased you managed to sail this one home safely. Concur its a real beauty and well worth the hundreds of pounds you worried about spending last Saturday :rolleyes2:

It's a beauty, not just the boat but each figure. Congrats:wink2:.

Paulo

Thank you Paulo, you are quite right, it's not just the boat but also the whole ensemble!

One of the reasons I was after this set ( if set is the right term? ) is for the figures that represent the Sussex Regt as I live in East Sussex, so I thought it would be very fitting to have a representation of my County Regiment.

Jeff

Looks great Jeff, I bet you'll have hours of fun setting it up in its eventual new display case :salute::

Craig

Congratulations Jeff on a wonderful acquisition to your collection. No doubt it has made you feel very happy to own such a marvelous model . . .
:smile2: Mike

Nice tub Jeff!

It should look superb on a purpose built dio.

The only thing is that Andy UK_BOD and I were discussing this at the show, and I'm sure these always sailed in pairs. Far be it for me to suggest that you really ought to get another to compliment it, but.......{sm4}

Jeff....great purchase...it looks really cool on your shelf...I bet it will look fantastic in a display case...imagine it in here...sweet!!!!

It's great to see how enthused you are with the set Jeff, this will certainly be the centre piece for the Nile series. I like the figures also. Cheers, Robin.
