The Rio Olympics (2 Viewers)

I am getting the feeling some American forum members not so enthusiastic about the Olympics.

If not interested in the sports how about these competition categories.

Which country has the most supporters / athletes come down with Zika.

Who has most supporters / fans robbed.

Which competitor finds most outrageous item floating in the sea.

Best selfie taken on the beach with the local attractions.

Which country has most doping results.

I am predicting the opening ceremony is going to be the most "attractive" ever.

you really think that's the reasons...

keep telling yourself that til you believe it...

Is there a reason we need to bring this in here and not leave it where it belongs. Trust me, as a Jets fan, people didn't like the Pats long before the ball fiasco. And you know why? It's simple. The same reason they don't like the Yankees. They win and continue to win. Winning breeds jealousy. As a Jets and Mets fan, it's no fun playing second fiddle to these teams. Heck, I wish our organizations were as good as the Pats and the Yankees.

Brady will be serving a suspension and doing his time so can we let it go.

are you referring to only my post...

or also George's earlier post...

or both?

both I assume huh?

Yeah so anyway; back to the Olympics...............opening ceremonies are tonight, can't wait..............................should be a great two weeks............

Lance Armstrong agrees 100 percent. What is the big deal about cheating? People just hate him for being a w(e)inner. Now can I get on to ignoring the Olympics? My goal is not to see a single second even by accident.

Enjoy. More power to you all. Myself, I can't watch without thinking that the cost to Brazil will be a burden for decades.
When they bid on hosting in 2009 oil exports were at an all time high. Now they can ill afford the cost. Then be stuck with
falling down sports facilities that will never be used again to remind them of the folly. All this with a somewhat shaky government.
Graft that is at all levels.

That's OK some island somewhere can say they beat the USA and got a gold medal in Beer Pong without
even checking if the USA was even entered in Beer Pong.

The only winner after two weeks will be NBC with their endless Ads for things I don't want and don't need,
and the IOC. Incidentally, the IOC is a nonprofit independent international organization
made up of volunteers. If you believe that.

Then everyone goes home. The sewage remains. Brazil is no better off by a long shot

With the money they've spent on the World Cup and the Olympics, they will be hemorrhaging for years. As usual, the people are stuck with the bill.

I wonder how many times we will hear snippets of Girl from Ipanema or Corcovado?

They played it earlier as Mrs Brady strutted across the floor of the Olympic stadium.

Holy Mother of God..............................what a woman......................................ok, back to the complaining and the cheating talk........................

The parade of Nations; Greece leads the way, just like it should be....................

So if I read your comment correctly a country would only win if USA was not in the event. I look forward to USA winning gold in every event, apart from Beer Pong, it participates in.

However I suspect a few "Island" athletes from Australia, England, and Caribbean etc might have other thoughts and that is the whole point of the Olympics. I guess the rest of the world should let the USA win just to keep American sports fans like yourself happy. Probably best if you don't watch the Olympics if that is your attitude to international sport.

Hilarious coming from the country that calls it's baseball championship the World Series. I mean what other country plays Baseball seriously apart from Japan and Cuba ?

Team Australia fight, but fall to Japan

Despite a strong offensive performance, Team Australia’s quest for Honkbalweek glory has come to an end, falling 9-4 at the hands of Japan in the preliminary final.

Sounds like the boys from down Unda gave Japan a good run at this tourney, don't count your boys out Brett, sounds like they have a solid group playing...Sammy

now back to hating on the Olympics.

You did not. Try again. "That's OK some island somewhere can say they beat the USA and got a gold medal in Beer Pong without

if the USA was even entered in Beer Pong." I said nothing about "only win if USA was not in the event."
