Nasir, you had me worried.........but not for long.

I measured my King & Country Afrika Korps Stug III (Ausf A) and it converts to within 1 to 2 millimeters of the following actual dimensions, making it an accurate size imo.

L - 5.38m
W - 2.92m
H - 1.95m

Here's a photo of the real thing.

Well, Well.....I guess the scale issue regarding the FL stugs is settled.....FL must indeed be 1:30 scale if we are to believe that the K/C stug is 1:30;);)

I think this is the first side by side comparison I have seen and am surprised that the FL Stug is actually a tiny bit larger than the K&C vehicle, even making allowances for the track extensions on the FL Stug. I expected the FL Stug to be a bit smaller. It begs the question (rhetorically - I am not trying to restart a debate on figure size) as to such a large size difference in the manufacturers' respective figures.:)

Well, they certainly are about the same size.

You see, that is what I mean - a nice pleasant objective note.

Thanks Rob

Great dio pics Frank, thanks for posting.

Re: Battle for the Barrikady Gun Factory, Nov.'42

I may be totally wrong here so please forgive me if thats the case. But I thought Matt had always said from the start that A)The WW2 figures would not go with K&C's because they were smaller and B)The AFV's would be nearer to the K&C size and may well go.Now I've not seen them up close yet (two and a half weeks until London!;))but the size diff does not look huge to me.I would be very interested to see a K&C Winter Tank rider on a FL Stug,in fact I may take one to London and try it out!.

What I'm trying to say is I don't quite understand the anger around here, surely we can all appreciate other producers stuff can't we?.We are all adults here, can't we just enjoy the wide and growing range of WW2 TS and Vehicles to choose from?.

Just a thought:).

i agree with rob, matt had made it clear that these were never meant to be mixed with K&C.

im posting these pictures, should anyone ponder to mix them.

I just took a look at your comparison photos... very nice. By the way, isn't the assault gun crewman torso the figure I sculpted for one of the ONWTC sets?
It sure looks like it.

Thanks for the pictures Nasir.

Wow, I didn't really appreciate just how undersize the K&C Stug is until you posted these pictures. It is so extreme that even the FL figures are too large to work together with that Stug.

Here are a few pictures;

Re: Battle for the Barrikady Gun Factory, Nov.'42

What's really interesting for me is just how far our hobby has come in terms of quality and diversity of choice in what is, a relatively short period of time.

I collect a number of different manufacturers figures and AFV's and each is collected for a different reason.

I, like others, own the K&C Stug (grey version) it was one of the first AFV's I ever bought from any manufacturer and I love it, but for what it is, no more no less.

I have pre ordered the FL Stug F8 and cannot wait to get my hands on it, the quality of this piece looks to be outstanding and if the postings of those who already own it are anything to go by, I won't be disappointed.

Regards

Brian

As opposed to other manufacturers who make figures that are too large for the vehicles. The Ken Osen ONTC figure goes well with the K & C Stug. The figures that came with the K &C Stug (while very nice) are too large for the vehicle.
I would like to see a side shot of the FL Stug with the FL figures placed next to it.
Oz,
I see where you're going with it, but it looks to me that the FL Stug is closer to the camera which might make it appear larger. I would like to see some better photos before I am convinced the Stug is too large. The photos of the tan Stug on the First Legion website show the tankers standing next to the Stug and in my opinion look just about right.

Re: Battle for the Barrikady Gun Factory, Nov.'42

Great Tanks and Figures.... of course everybody already knows that;) Except for a couple of my friends who are still in Denial .. Its OK guys embrace the future :D Denial ----is a defense mechanism postulated by Sigmund Freud, in which a person is faced with a fact that is too uncomfortable to accept and rejects it instead, insisting that it is not true despite what may be overwhelming evidence. And the evidence keeps growing with every release. Just my two cents which is Worth about one cent maybe less ;)

Put this up about a week ago and after reading this thread today I think its even more relevant then a week ago ;) Crap now we are getting into conspiracy theories WOW this is hilarious . I really don't think its fair to either company to compare there products they are so different its like comparing a Mercedes and a Yugo....Some people Love their Yugo's and who I'm I to say they are wrong in doing so .. I can't think a Thread of King & Country's where guys who prefer FL go and pick their products apart its not necessary people like what they like and buy what they like .The big winner is FL hey the new guy is taking on the Big dog ! and as always Just my two cents which is Worth about one cent maybe less ;)[/QUOTE]

Actually mate, I agree with you and Breaker and your two cents is worth more than most of the so called recent observations, excluding of course Frank's helpful plan photos. All the rest so far is like so much noise. It is rather simple to compare the size of the model with the plan specifications as Frank already did to prove the scale of the figures. Perhaps someone will do that eventually after the "slanted illustrations" abate.;)

It is interesting to observe however that based on the plan specifications, those so-called undersized FL German figures would have to be about 6ft, 10 inches tall if that K&C Stug is in proper scale.;)

Re: Battle for the Barrikady Gun Factory, Nov.'42

i think there's some unnecessary confusion due to photoshoping the figure bases.

my apologies.

here are some photos with the bases.

The FL Stug and figures beat the K/C stug "Hands Down".(IN ALL ASPECTS)......Simply the best WWII figures and AFV"s out there...

In your humble opinion of course ;)

Re: Battle for the Barrikady Gun Factory, Nov.'42

When comparing the K&C Ausf A stug with the FL Ausf F, remember there were actual size differences between the two stug Ausf. Is it possible that both stugs are 1/30 scale and the only differences are in the size of the figures?

Do we have any Ausf A and Ausf F dimensions (which do not include the long gun in the length)?
