The Stugs, comparions. (4 Viewers)

Is this directed at my post or are you saying I was wasting my "breath" in what I typed? I agree with your words that's for sure which is what in the gist of things I was trying to say.

TD

It's more a case of us all wasting our breath, nothing will ever change.

I think Brad made a good point, it certainly does put people off.I know this to be true because it puts me off.I would like to join conversations about FL Tanks and figures and freely talk about what I like about their products and what I don't like, but I'm sure some would think heres another K&C fan coming over to have a go,so my posts here are few and far between.K&C,TGM,Figarti,FL,HB all make great stuff, can't we just enjoy our hobby without this tribal warfare all the time.K&C are my favourite company, but if someone says they don't like them it doesn't worry me in the slightest, its a free world and everyone can choose just what they want.It would be such a shame if we can't talk because of tribal loyalties.

But it seems to be the only thread I can get into a dust up. And no other thread has such good sarcasm. :D

Frankly I think Damian had the better point.:p If there is anything to be put off by it is the lack of respect of certain members for the opinions of others and just general disregard for common social protocols. You do not go into someone's house and start telling them how much better it would look if they changed their floors etc. It is really no different here. There is nothing wrong Rob with giving honest opinions on any product but you can do that without being insulting and when you are, it may be expected that you get a hostile reaction. Moreover, it may be expected that you get a hostile reaction when you post what may be innocent in a potentially hostile or disrespectful manner, like "are [blank's feet to big]. If your insult was unintended, don't get mad, simply explain yourself. That is what you would do if you were having an in person conversation and it is the deviation from that course of conduct at times here (or in any forum) that is really the issue. Most everyone here knows how to behave civilly and those that don't either chose to or are relatively hopeless in that regard. Annoying, yes at times. Does it inhibit more rationale exchanges; only if you let it. I personally refuse to let my conduct or enjoyment be dictated by the misconduct of others.;) Is this a one manufacturer phenomenon; please. Should we let the occasional misunderstanding or even outright dust up stifle our free expression, exchange of different perspectives and sense of humor; lord I sincerely hope not. IMHO, this is simply not a major problem and when the problem occurs there are many simple ways to deal with it; humor is in fact one of them, whatever your tribe.;):)

Bill,
Good points, a little arguing never hurt anyone, always make sure both sides can smile when you are done is my motto. I usually learn something I didn't know after an argument.

I only think that due to past events, it gets overly hostile quick on the forum as a whole (here in FL right now b/c it is a hot topic), but it has happened on all the forums (even East of India!). I think we should all give benefit of the doubt of a post before we go on the rumbling warpath is my only point.

I see its the same old story , In the corner to my right its the collectors who dare to collect First Legion . And in the corner to my left the collectors who piss em off . LETS GET READY TO RUUMMMBBLLE !!! Ok gentlemen I want a clean fight no Flaming, Cursing , and no hitting below the belt . Touch gloves and at all time protect yourselves .....

I made this posting earlier today when I checked in to see if any new news about First Legion had been posted ,(Before getting ready to watch the Ravens dismantle the Patriots):) And I just thought to myself **** here we go again . It was a joke , Its meant to show my frustration about the back and forth seems some members were going at it about line compatibility .. Like the Great humanitarian Rodney King once said " Can't we all just get along man u know man ...." Happy collecting

Agree!

Speaking of the Ravens and I dislclaim that I am a Steeler fan, but wow, did they play well today. If they played like that all year, be a different story, hopefully they can keep that up next week at the Colts.

LOL Bill!.So reading between the lines you are saying; Only ever post positive comments,if you do post a negative comment however its phrased you should expect insults or abuse,on top of this you are not allowed to respond in the same manner as the insults!!:D

I guess its all down to the passion we have for our hobby, maybe if we all show tolerance and respect it would be a big help.I do think its bad etiquette to go onto one mfrs thread to either slag them off or ra ra another company. This goes for all mfrs in my view, and is not caused by just by one producers collectors.

Generally good points as civility should always guide our actions and I believe most people here follow this maxim. Following the house analogy a little further, if someone stops by your house and asks for directions or has a question about your house or the neighborhood in which you live, you should not slam the door in their face but attempt to answer the question as politely as possible.

Rob my friend I think you should try just reading the lines and not worry so much what is between them.;):D It very much is NOT just down to passion but it is very much about tolerance and respect. Yes that includes being polite is response to LEGITIMATE questions but if your neighbor asks you "are the windows in your house really in proper proportion"... the better course is to verify that he meant what he said but still he shouldn't be that surprised if the door is slammed.;)

Another thing about this is the 'Whats the point' point.I have one particular producer that produce my favourite products. What on earth would I get out of attacking another product???.I just don't get it I really don't.Have we all become so territorial that we feel we have to defend our fave producers from percieved slights, that somehow because we may be very loyal to one company we have to prove this by lambasting others.

The fact that I do not collect FL figures (so far)does not mean I am small minded enough not to see they are superbly crafted and painted examples of our hobby.

Uh oh,starting to rant..better go..peace, love and Chocolate to all;)
