The Walking Dead, season 3 and Comicbook Men........ (1 Viewer)

Apocalypse notwithstanding, the Governor has a nice golf swing. The actor must actually play the game in life.

I kind of like Merle in his current incarnation. Dude has wry sense of humor and seems a bit less of an a$$4018.

I like the idea, but payback on whom? Andrew is dead, and the former prisoners were actually a help. Zombie killing fest?

Merle; "How come the two of us never hooked up?"...............in your dreams buddy.

As far as payback; yes, a zombie killing fest.

It's funny how you miss things in some of the episodes and catch them the second time around, I thought at first the scarf that Daryl picked up was T-Dogs shirt, it is actually the scarf what's her name wore, so is she a goner too? Also, the prisoner who let the zombies out; didn't know at first who he was, then I realized he was the guy who got away when Rick went postal and chopped the one prisoner in the coconut.............

If you watched "Talking Dead" they showed the cast sending of T Dog, but Lori wasn't shown at the cast party.

Hey, i like he asked the question. No beating around the bush, so to speak...

Carol (?) could be a goner, but not confirmed. I think probably not, as they set her up in this season as a newly minted semi-bad ***. Plus, I think they would have shown it. Gruesome deaths of major cast members make good tv, after all.

Amazing that andrew escaped that yard full of zombies with no bites. But note what Rick now has on his shoulders -- by not killing andrew himself, he indirectly caused the death of hiw wife, T-Dog, and presumbably the awfulness of Carl shooting his own mother in the head. Most people would need a bottle full of antidepressants and many hours on the couch to deal with that, but no such luxuries are availabe in Zombie Land. A Zombie killing spree may be his best route to mental health :)

Bingo.

It's all on him.

The kid has really manned up this season. I was hoping that he would get eaten last year with all his moping around. Great show but I swear to god if I have to watch that comic book men promo one more time it might be me going nuts.

I fast forward.

Wasn't that prisoner eaten by walkers when Rick threw him into the yard and pulled the door shut? I seem to recall he was?

As for Carol I am sure she is somewhere safe as T-Dog held them back while she took off. I am sure we haven't seen the last of Lori as we didn't actually see her get shot.

Great episode and can't wait for the next one!!

That whats we all assumed, as well as Rick, that the zombies munched him. But as you suggest with Lori, we never saw it, so that left open the possibility he escaped. Which apparently he did, at least until his former buddy shot him in the head with Rick's 44 mag.

Interesting possibilities with Lori. Let her come back as Zombie so Rick must off her? Or, could she somehow have survived all that bleeding? I doubt the latter. The former could be frought with mental anguish, ala Herschel with his wife. But then again, the way Rick readily hacked off Hershcel's leg, and made sure Glenn was there in case he "turned" while recuperating, suggests the survivors are pretty clinical when it comes to dealing with the zombie threat, regardless.

Carol may be alive somewhere, but surely she aint completely safe. I predict either a Grimes lead rescue, or she will rescue herself and fully establish her new rep as a born again bad mama-jama.

Carol with her medical training stumbles upon a barely breathing Lori and patches her up. The 2 find their way back to party and we all quit the series for going all " Hollywood " on us. Michael

Things get curiouser and curiouser. Lori is MIA and the gov'ner is really going down weirdsville road. And now the telephones are ringing. -- Al

It was suggested that Lori was dragged in the corner and eaten by the walker Rick fed his gun too. He was cutting the walkers stomach open because he looked like by uncle after Thanksgiving dinner. I guess he didn't remember how to open his belt a few notches.

That would answer the whole question of Lori, although somewhat hideously, but completely in character for this series. -- Al

I was watching the Talking Dead after show conversation and the director did let slip that the swollen belly was Lori...Michael

Not one of the better episodes. I will remember it as the one in which an oppossum dies. Andrea is now my nominee for most annoying character. She also looks more haggard in that town than she ever did running around in the wilderness with the zombies. Rick going off like Jack Torrance in the Shining and running amok while the other characters apparently chose to ignore him was odd to say the least.

Agreed; I DVR each episode and watch them a few times, this one I deleted right away.

Andrea is beyond annoying, I wish she'd make up her mind, stay or go, stay or go, stay or go, looks like in the next episode she decided to go.

The swollen belly character was a bit much for me, Rick carving him up like a Christmas turkey was going to be nasty if he kept it up, what did he think he was going to find in there, her intact head?

And the governor is one weird fruitloop, but his daughter is a looker for sure, I wonder if he pulled all her chicklets out too?

not a great episode. Though I enjoyed Rick's zombie head squashing...

Thing is, I get Andreas point. It seems like a pretty good place. Michonne is grouchy and suspicious because that's her nature, I guess. I find her more annoying than Andrea. Either way, their ongoing Argument about whether to leave or stay was getting tired. Glad it's done.

The governor is surely weird, but also savvy. Have no idea what his end game is. They must be searching for a cure? Or maybe an antidote of some kind? The science guy remarked, when they were gathering the "biters" in the net, that the one young girl had interesting eyes. That must have some relevance to what they are up to.

Carol must make a reappearance at some point, in whatever form. I also agree, Lori as food baby was a bit much. Was glad the preschool wasn't overcome with zombie kids. That would have been over the top, too, IMO.

I was also glad that there were no zombie pre-schoolers in hiding. This is a fun show. By it's very nature, it has plenty of opportunity to go over the top and become a parody of itself, but so far the writers have avoided this and stayed true to the 'realistic' tone that has been set. No fake heroics where the cavalry shows up just in time and lots of regular cast members killed off. It is a main strength of the show that anyone can be killed off with little or no warning. If the writing stays away from the obvious and predictable, this show can run for a while. -- Al
