REALLY .......................it was a cigar and instead of redoing it they just painted it!!!!!!!! If concerned about being too fragile make it metal as in a piece of steel. I do not post often but had to comment about this stop defending K&C......Breakage was the reason REALLY.......I don't think so

You know what. Just forget the whole comment that I made and leave it at that. I am not going to engage in sillyness over a toy figure holding a cigarette.

HAPPY COLLECTING...................

Quite a stark response in the poll!!! Mind, for all its flaws if you want to have this set in your collection to depict what was seen as an important point in WWII you either buy it and accept the flaws!!! or, await another manufcaturer to make one

Mitch,
An interesting poll as you say.

No way to prove it but I can safely predict more sales for me alone than there are current no's (24) in this poll.

Brett

Most of these polls are useless. They don't show anything. The people voting no could be not buying for many reasons. The real question is whether your opinion of the quality of the model is deciding you against buying it. That's the point some people are making.

quite right indeed

Getting this set depends on whether one feels right with the set when the person sees it. I personally am leaning towards purchasing this, however historical accuracies may cause an impending move of not getting it. End of the day, I may just purchase it when i see the item first hand.

In fact, I got the set today when the stock came in. It looks nice enough to me.

Thanks for your post. Just what we need is honest posts like yours!!

Also, thanks for your words on my collection. I like your HK stuff my friend. More later I have to do honey do's. Mama mad about to much TF:(

saw the set today
very nice indeed
yes it does have some issues mentioned in this thread
i am still on the fence but i am leaning towards getting it

Brett...

I am sure it will sell. Will it sell as good as it might have but for the issues members are raising in this thread? It would be interesting to note the conversations at K&CHQ when they saw the sculpts and the painted versions. I wonder if they picked up visually what collectors are saying about the president or, missed them?? Did they see it and not care thinking collectors would value the set as a whole and appreciate the overall asthetic rather than the individual sculpt?

We will never know. It would be interesting to be a fly on the wall at such meetings would it not?

No contest there Brett - you won't get odds for that bet. Interestingly, I had an email at work on Thursday about yet another area closed to smokers - it's a health hazard apparently. No pollie would be caught dead smoking in public now - and history is constantly re-written by the victors - or those who think they won. Anyway, if I get a round tuit {sm4}, I'll drill that all-day sucker out and replace it with a durrie; this I can do but I sure as h..l can't sculpt worth a tinker ^&cool Don't forget me on the order, Cheers Bob

Well I am getting the set, don't care a hoot if it's historically correct or not, I like it.

Very true, the set looks fine to me and I'm sure it will be popular, but I mostly collect Aussie sets now, so no real interest for me.

PA, it's one of those 'you don't have much option' sets as far as dios go.....:wink2:
Wayne.

Well, not really. If K&C also release the British, Russian and American officers who were standing behind the 3 of them at the Yalta conference then we may yet have a diorama of the Yalta conference.

Straight from the horse's mouth - well done Shadowfax! That would look something! ^&cool

Best thing to do with this set is to break it down and use it for seperate dioramas. Churchill could be an officer at an RAF base,Stalin for a Russian HQ,Roosevelt maybe meeting with Ike but for the price of the set this would not even be practicle. I will not be getting it,sculpts are just too bad. Keith

I thought I'd use this set as a center piece of a famous commanders and leaders display. Stood behind them I'm thinkng of putting, Monty,Slim, Alexander etc etc. It won't be a moment in history type shot but a bringing together of K&C's representations of these leaders. I also fin they don't fit into action dio's anyway, I mean you can't really have Eisenhower on Omaha with the GI's can you!
