Great dio, Robin. JJ really produces some impressive figures.
I love the buildings as well; would work in a number of different scenes.

An outstanding display Robin. Great looking figures as well as great looking scenics.

Mike

Great scene, excellent figures.

I am waiting for the new Jacobites to be released, hopefully soon.

I know nothing but that picture, sorry if 'over stated' something, but those new sketches were what i was referring too.

I am hoping they will be out this year!!!!!

Great set up Robin. Just needs some Kronprinz 18th century civilians to give it a bit more vibrancy.

Yeh me too. Sorry i got excited. I love so many ranges but this is my favourite, maybe because i have strong Scotish heritage, the undergogs v the establishment etc. You just wonder what if ? The Jacobites almost did it. I love the Highlanders.
said it before but a bit more cavalry and an artillery piece for each side and i could retire from collecting.

Like the 'undergogs' that is a typo i make. I too love the series, have visited the battlefield a couple of times and am close to finishing the whole collection. One thing i would disagree with you on is that the battle was close, the Jacobite was outnumbered outgunned, large numbers had deserted and those left were tired and they did not have artillery, battle lasted less than than hour and the difference in casualities and dead is horrific to me. The mad dramatic charge across the battleground did for them, it was the disciple of the government troops and the 'newish' training and tactics they used when meeting the charge. having walked across the 'charge' area, it was a long way and they were Kn**kered, plus the Clans were racing across to bet to the enemy first and they did not reach the government line as a mass. No British Regiment has the battle on their flags as an honour. Mainly because of the slaughter that happened after the battle, tragic, but understandable [net defendable] as what happened when the Jacobites invaded England and the desire to crush any future problems, this had been going on for close to 60 years. My link to the period is we had family killed, they lived North of Nottingham and there were a number killed in a raid on the village by a Jacobite band as they retreated. It is in the parish records, which are a great historical document, they also mention the people [none from my family] from the area who left with the PIlgrim Fathers for the new lands.

Have you read anything about the 'Debateable Land', great book by Graham Robb, really interesting and terrifying history there, it was like the US wild west but for 100s of years. There are 3 Robert Low fiction books on the area/period which i enjoyed.

Wow, thanks for the references. I know a bit about this period but not as much as you and so much more to learn. I didnt mean Culloden was close, i meant the Jacobites had a lot of success and went so far south … who knows what would have happened if they had continued advancing instead of retreating.

Oh for a mobile phone. The French were ready and willing to cross the Channel but the Scots feared they woukd not come while the French were waiting for a sign. Against Charlie's wishes they chose to retreat and were doomed from that moment onwards.
