Outstanding recreation of a great painting depicting an iconic moment in American Civil War history.

Mike

Like they have jumped out of the painting and come to life, so well done. Robin.

Nailed it mate..:salute::

Just awesome!:salute:::salute::

Many thanks guys and for the like votes. BTW, the flag is from the Flag Dude.

I will always remember attending the centennial re-enactment in 1961 as a kid. That kindled my life long interest in the ACW.

Yep a wonderful rendition Chris. Well done indeed :salute:::salute:::salute:::salute:::salute::

There was some claim that when Bee said "there stands Jackson like a stonewall" he meant it as a criticism. It's funny now, but I used to live near the Manassas battlefield and often walked around for exercise. They have these push button audio clips that you can play with very dramatic and often phony southern accents to depict the Rebs. One of which says the famous Bee quote. You could push the button and hear him drawl it out like Senator Tankerbill from Mr. Show.

DS Freeman gives a good account of the controversy in an Appendix to Vol 1 of Lee's Lieutenants.

BTW, the Troiani painting is of the advance of the 4th Alabama, not it's retreat. But the picture serves well in either case I think. Chris

Very nicely done, Chris ..... outstanding JJD figures and the groundwork is first rate.

Just an awesome diorama.......................this is the sort of thing I like to see, this took a great deal of time, planning and patience, it's faithful to the painting and the moment, thanks for sharing Chris.

Many thanks gentlemen. Buster, the base is by Ken Olsen, I was lucky to get this. It's the base for most of my dios.

George, very much appreciate the comments. I have a few more coming as I collect the figs to reflect Troiani's work. I remember UK Reb replicating the paintings/prints. Though not comparing my work to Bob's. Chris

Chris,

Always appreciate your ability to create a realistic diorama in historic detail.

Steve

Chris,

Wow...what an outstanding job you did on this dio!!! Very realistic and you've captured the history so well.

Thanks for sharing this scene with us. Looking forward to seeing more of the same as your collection grows.

I was looking at this thread I posted and noticed I failed to include the Don Troiani painting. Embarrassing. Chris
