Things that annoy me (5 Viewers)

Tom, I agree with everything you've said, but unfortunately " common sense" is a commodity that is sorely lacking in world today. Just look at went on in this country in the past four years, it wasn't all that long ago that "common sense" would have told you much of that crap could never happen ... yet it did.

B.
sad but true.

Pondering question - who in their right mind takes Greta seriously after her last misfire? Not sure if anyone saw this, but she tried to pass off a photo of an Israeli hostage as a Palestinian suffering..................................... I just have to continually ask, what is wrong with people................

Labeling and enforcing the matter are 2 separate issues. All you have to do is look at what is going on in Chicago. Cars being used to blockade federal enforcement. I am not a Constitutional Lawyer and I do believe in State's rights. However, immigration no matter how you slice it, what side of it you are on, etc is in reality a Federal issue. It is not a State issue, just isn't. Therefore, there should not be an impediment to a Federal agency enforcing the laws that are on our books. There is a reason or so there was why we have Congress, they make and change laws, the agencies only enforce them or in other words do their jobs. You could argue what is going on in Chicago is Domestic terrorism.

Again, I am not posting this to evoke an emotional reaction, I think regardless of feelings, this is a common sense issue. Common sense would tell you it is a problem that needs to be addressed. This really is not a political or D vs R issue, it just isn't regardless of how much it is used in that way. We need a solution or else we are going to have continual chaos in urban areas. Either get on board or get out is really going to have to be the mantra in more ways than one.

These people like pritzker and johnson who are they playing to? What sane, common sense person would think it right for people just to stroll into our country, unvetted, take advantage of benefits like there is nothing wrong. I just watched pritzker, who never passed a buffet without stopping, saying that these ice agents are just focusing on brown and black skinned people. Therefore pandering to black and latino voters and making this a racist thing. When all else fails throw in the race card. While writing this post I got to thinking which state, Illinois or California have the most despicable politicians. Illinois with Gov pritzker, Chicago mayor johnson and there 2 senators duckworth & durbin
. California, Governor newsom, mayor of L.A. bass, Senator schiff, and represenative maxine waters? When ever any of their mugs appear on tv I cringe. It actually causes my blood pressure to rise! Now to happier thoughts, Go Pam Bondi, go girl! Just one more thing. Please don't blame me because I'm from St Louis for giving the world maxine waters & jasmine crockett (they are both originally from St louis).

When it comes to politics in this country, it comes down to two things; pandering and being contrarian to whatever the other party is trying to accomplish.

Our border was wide open for 4 years, millions of illegals streamed into this country, flooded is more like it, so now the current administration is trying to clean up that mess/Republicans, so naturally the Democrats are against it, matters not if it's the right thing to do, they are going to fight this tooth and nail.

If the shoe was on the other foot, Republicans would be doing the same thing; neither party wants to work with the other to get anything done.

What a broken toilet of a system.

Uber driver that torched 7,000 homes and business structures in California...that killed 12 people...caused $150 billion in damages...was arrested and "may" get up to 20 years in prison...what a joke...20 years? How can he only get a maximum of 20 years in prison...

I'm waiting to see the evidence that this guy is solely responsible. The utility companies in California are on the hook for billions in damages due to their negligence that resulted in many recent fires. It is unreal that they still do not bury the utility lines in high-risk areas. The cost would be minuscule in comparison to the damages these fires cause but the only discussion in the aftermath is to return to the status quo by paying out hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars. An endless cycle of lunacy.

The LA Times sports writers who wrote that the Dodgers were going to win the WS after they went up 2-0 on the Phillies now proclaiming that they are doomed after one loss.

I like this conversation more than most on this thread. You and Mike bring up concerns that transcend political mud-throwing.
Not to discourage, "hate on", or complain about any of the other posts; but I think this thread should be treated as you guys do.
I got one: If you have too many trees on your property and a breeze blows thorough a tree or two breaks in half and cost you over $1000 ea. I know people have it much worse, but Nature is chaotic and cruel!
Anyway, Best Wishes to All

One man's political mud throwing is another man's fact. That said, I think I personally try to call it as I see it, granted I may be jaded on certain issues, but I really try to look at things objectively. Me personally, I hate the press b/c I blame them (national news looking for ratings) for never reporting all the facts. That boggles my mind and continues to do so.

The problem with today's politicians is they really don't care about their citizens, they care about keeping a job and getting re-elected. Mind you, the original purpose of public office was the "a privilege to serve". (Not in today's world, it is a sure fire way to riches, how sad is that? forget hard work, forget innovation, forget entrepreneurial ship, just rob the citizens blind).

Nobody in their right mind (IMO) can say Governors DeSantis, Pritzker, Newsome or even Abbot(at times, I tend to give him a break b/c a lot of his decisions are truly Texas citizen centric and he is not running for higher office in the least) are out for the good of the people, they just are not. Do they have some beneficial ideas, sure, they have to make someone happy, but I just don't look at them as "Benevolent Joes".

All of that said, I still stand by my post regarding Greta the Thug (and I mean that, she is a bully) and how anybody with a nogen between the shoulders that functions could think she is doing any kind of benefit for anyone is beyond me. Talk about a farce and a fraud, she takes the proverbial cake. Top on the fact, the press constantly portrays her as a victim..........................just ridiculous and an insult to intelligence and integrity worldwide.

Tom. Greta, seemingly can't tell the difference and laments on the injustice dealt to that Gazan, Oops, it's actually a Jewish hostage !
Once again, in their rush to blame Israel, they forget to check the facts.
No doubt, feeble excuses will be forthcoming.

Not that I think this will go anywhere but I was happy to see the attorney general of New York get indicted today. Of course she comes out and says it is an abuse of power and politically motivated. Didn't she run for election saying she was going to get Donald Trump? Call me cold blooded but last night in North St Louis 5 people were shot, one killed as they were releasing balloons in remembrance of someone else who was shot and killed. The appropriate saying again is apropos, "they never let you down".

Hello to a fellow St. Louisan! I agree with you whole heartedly and I hope she at the very least has to pay a mountain of attorney fees! And yes unfortunately North St. Louis has always been a killing field. Very sad.

He'll do for starters, imo instead of the meagre 20 years he received, people like that should be thrown into the next wildfire, problem solved 🔥

That creepy "Kids4Kars" commercial and jingle. This may very well be for a good cause but that song makes me cringe.

On another note a founder and former owner of Ben and Jerry's just can't take a hint. Profits in the toilet, spinoff coming (they are truly never done as a good thing it it typically to jettison underperformed parts) and he is still trying to be a relevant protester. Unilever is finally doing what is in shareholder best interest and spinning them off. If you want to have a platform for social .messaging, a for profit company owned by investors is not it. Put your own money where your big mouth is or just shut up for goodness sake. I stopped buying that ice cream 10 years ago mainly bc of the founders crass and holier than thou how dare you disagree viewpoints but also there are honestly a number of better small batch ice cream makers.
