Things that I really like (2 Viewers)

"Detroiters" on Netflix. Tim Robinson is the funniest guy around these days.

"Grotesquerie" is a mind-bending show. I wasn't sure Nancy Nash of Reno 911 fame could carry the main role, but she is knocking it out. I'm just watched episode 7. The opening was brutal. Even Kelce's mug can't ruin this show.

Count Chocula cereal. Whoever came up with that was a marketing genius. Franken Berry was a distant second.

I like it a lot; the plot twist threw me for a loop, I DVR'd 8 and 9, will watch later this week.

Me too except it is jarring to see Kelce's face. I keep wondering what he is doing on the show then remember he is supposed to be a character. He is becoming Gronk II. I guess we know why he is not in playing shape.

I thought he was actually pretty good, not a cardboard cutout, seems pretty natural to be honest.

I've only received one political call this election cycle. I can remember years when there would be several each day. Maybe they have transitioned to text messages or social media. There are endless TV commercials and junk mail, though. I can't imagine the TV commercials move the needle much despite the enormous amount of money spent on advertising.

Couple things

the recent wave of utterly GORGEOUS weather we have had for the past couple weeks here in Central Pa.

The perfectly toasted English Muffin with the perfect amount of butter spread about the halves- just puts a smile on my face when it's done right- mind you, it can be difficult to achieve the perfect EM as you can easily mess up cutting the halves, set the toaster too high, over toasting etc- so like the proverbial unicorn in the woods- when this happens, it is divine!

McDonald's has really been in the news cycle lately. For good and ill. This only took years to address but hope springs eternal even in the age of Idiocracy:

"McDonald’s franchises haven’t been able to fix the soft serve ice cream machines on their own because manufacturing company Taylor owns the copyright and exclusive rights to fix the machines — until now.

The United States Copyright Office granted a copyright exemption last week that gives restaurants the “right to repair” the machines by bypassing the digital locks that prevented them from being fixed. The inability to make timely fixes has been a bane of the customers’ existence, so much so, that there’s a third-party website called McBroken.com that tracks their availability."

It's supposed to be in the 70s and even 80s this week. Could be the warmest Halloween on record. California weather heading into November. Weird time of year when it is in the 30s in the morning and you are having heat stroke by the afternoon.

I went to see John Carpenter's 1978 movie "Halloween" on the big screen. I've probably seen it more times than I can count but if you are a horror fan this movie is a just about perfect. The music is great. For good or ill, it started a whole new genre of "slasher" movies in the 70s and 80s. They don't make them like that anymore. The actresses who played the three high school girls including Jamie Lee Curtis were way too old for those roles and you have take the plot with a grain of salt but it has held up well.

I saw it back in 1978 in the theatre, what an experience, no gore, just a lot of jump scares and tense moments, a ground breaking movie for the genre.

Getting a random letter in the mail informing me after careful review, I have been awarded a medal from the US Army for actions over 30 years ago.........................................

...................and in typical military/US Govt fashion, it is to be awarded sometime between August 2025 and September 2026 LMFAO

I guess the first line of this post could go under the "Things I love" thread and the second line could go under the "Things that annoy me" threads ha ha. It's a "2 for 1" sort of post.
