That looks like an interesting process building that rocky cliff face. I've tried that process before using a lot of plaster and the bird wire to build structure. The way I do it now is to use foam glued to foam and shave to shape. Then I coat with a thin layer of plaster and paint. I might be way off the beaten track with my assumptions but the diorama is a interesting concept that I haven't seen much and would go well with the Germans and a Guns of Navarone type scene. I've been building lots of dioramas that will be revealed on our Andy visit night. Enjoying your contributions to the forum lately. Regards Greg.

Yea Mike, l am in danger of exceeding the actual amount present. The Zulu can never have enough though. Certainly a core series of mine. Just added a couple of support wood beams under the table tennis table. The weight after 4 years was finally starting to make the middle drop by several centimetres. A lot of weight in these little figures, not to mention the buildings. Robin.

Sure is. This is a permanent display piece using my Aussie's in Vietnam, but they took a temporary hike to make way for these Japenese. Jakob's dio's have brought my collection alive, so lucky to have come across him. Not only such great pieces, but reasonably priced as well. Can recommend his work to anyone. He can build to order also, so the skies are the limit, or space, whichever comes first^&grin, Robin.

hahaha...that was Joe Quintini's (theLt.) favorite quote...when I was collecting them...he must have said it 100 times..."you can't have enough Zulus"...I found this guy who sold me unpainted dead Zulus...he had a variety of about 10 different poses of them...and sent all the different heads unattached...I bought 100's of them...they were an easy paint job because all they wore were a loincloth...and maybe a little head dress...and some calf decorations...as they were all dead...their eyes were closed...so a VERY EASY paint job...when I sold off the collection...I put them up in groups of 10 each...they were gobbled up really fast...

Wow that looks amazing Mike. Not sure how you could part with them. Not to many Red coats have bitten the dust. Understand out of the 150 only 17 were killed, very surprising considering at least 3,000 Zulu were attacking and they lost around 700 killed and many wounded. The Lt. Joe is on my friends list and I know as my Zulu collection grew, he would have taken a keen interest, but alas he departed way to early. Robin.
