I thought I would start to get into the spirit of painting again by posting some photos of artillery sets that I have painted some years ago. Apologies to those members, who have seen these before, but I’m getting ‘Itchy’ waiting for the Elephant Battery castings to arrive for the ‘How-To-Paint thread.

Anyhow……………….this is the Tradition (of London) version of the Elephant Battery, which I painted some while ago, these beasts are resin cast and so are much lighter than the Fusilier Miniatures elephants.

So, Jeff, who is going to be the lucky recipient this time or is this for your collection?:)

As you know Jeff, I'm not a collector of Glossy figures - but I can certainly see their appeal. Those are really nice photos. Thanks for posting and sharing them.
Cheers

Hi Brad,

I know this sounds strange for someone who paints gloss figures but I don't collect gloss anymore and so at the end of the painting project they will have to go I'm afraid

Actually. I have an idea mulling around in my head as to what I am going to do with them.

:):):)

Harry,

Thanks, I agree there is something about Gloss figures that just gets ones attention, but now I only collect Matt.

Jeff

P.S.

When you get back home next time we must set up a SOHK only thread.

Sounds good. I'll hit Dalian on 30th March.
Shall we insist on entry to the new SOHK thread being by invitation only..?? :D:D:D

Jeff under no circumstance should you have had to apologize for the posting of the photos. First off the painting of them is by far is of the finest I've ever seen in gloss and the photos are a pleasure to see. Ya got anymore and if so please post them .......Joe

Hi Guys,

I have to say that those Elephant and Camel Batteries are about as good as it gets! Thanks for posting and let us know what you decide to do with them. I would be happy to give some of those poor elephants a home...

All the best

Dave

Some lovely pieces you & your wife have painted. Just a bit of info that tiger hunting set (which is fantastically painted btw) isn't Britains. If my mind serves me correctly it was either by Timpo or Taylor & Barrett.

Thanks for posting up the pics and looking forward to the new "How To" series.

Scott,

That's right T&B! Sorry for the bum info, the recasts of the elephants and tigers are resin.

Jeff

Great photos Jeff, and fantastic paint jobs! Looking forward to breaking some gloss seals over the weekend.
