Traditional Gloss Artillery Sets (4 Viewers)

Tradition lists the British artillery as ₤85 for the painted set, and as castings, in two kits, at ₤5.25 for Kit 1 and ₤15.50 for Kit 2. Not sure if kit 1 is the gun and kit 2 is the crew, or some other combination of figures. But that works out roughly to around $53 for the unpainted figures, doesn't it? I'm estimating the exchange rate at around $2.50 to the pound.

Prost!

As of today the currency exchange is
1 GBP = 1.76079 USD

Which would make that set 36.5364 USD Not a bad price at all :)

Even better! Thanks for the update. I don't know why, but I thought the dollar was lower.

Of course, I still think in marks, too, rather than euros, and remember when it was almost 4 DM to the dollar.

Brad,

The figures are £5.25 each and the gun is £15.50 which makes £47.00. Todays rate is £1 to $1.76 = nearly $83.00.

Thanks for the info. When you throw in the cost of painting and the "outrageous" shipping prices charged to ship from the UK to the U.S. -- it's a little more than the Britains set.

Per figure? That makes more sense, but they could have made it clearer on the webpage.

I'm pretty sure Rich Dutkins has those figures in his store, if he's at Annadale this weekend, I'll look for them.

Prost!

Thanks Jeff -- I noticed that the exchange rate is now 1GBP = $1.76. (It sorta saddens me that I bought some stuff from a UK dealer back in May when the exchange rate was 1GBP = $2.01!!!!!!!!)

It's Traditional, It's Glossy, It's Artillery!. Maybe should be posted in the Zulu War thread but heck, we're just trying to get proper coordinates from our FOs on that channel with no response . The Royal artillery crew and 9pdr from G. Brown of Dorset fame are patiently waiting for firing orders from the Lt.
