Multiple reports coming in regarding two explosions near the finish line at the Boston Marathon.

The race has been shut down, at least three other devises have been found, thousands of runners still out along the route of the race.

Two deceased, twenty three injured so far, hospitals are being shut down due to threads of other attacks, patients are coming into multiple hospitals all around the city.

My Father (former BPD) said the entire city of Boston is in lock down, he said the area where the bombs went off looks like a war zone. He said another devise has been found under the grandstand built for people at the finish line to watch the race.

This is a horrific situation to say the least.

What has this world come to, unreal.

Hey George, just seen this on the BBC, glad you are ok mate and hope all your family are safe too. Terrible news.

Rob

Hope your family and friends are ok George.

Brad

Thanks, none of us decided to go today.

This gets worse by the minute, reports of a Penske truck claiming to be full of medical supplies being turned away at a checkpoint and later found abandoned in a part of the city.

All bus and train services in the city are suspended.

Thousands of runners are stranded along the route.

Injuries as first reported are much more serious, people were packed 5 deep around the blast areas.

Reports coming in of footage showing a person putting a backpack into a trash barrel right before one of the bombs went off.

The thing that always amazes me is how footage shows police/fire/EMT personnel running TOWARDS the blast area witout a moments hesitation, rushing in to save the lives of others without regard for their own.

Stones of steel on those folks.

I don't know what to say about this act of insanity. Just so sad. George, I hope all the people you love and know were spared physical harm. More cowards on the loose. -- Al

Like Rob, just picking this up on the news here. Firstly, glad you and yours are safe George. That said, horrific state of affairs.

The Kentucky Derby and Thunder Over Louisville are coming up in the next two weeks and there are many related public activities. Hundreds of thousands attend. Security will be heightened for those. Prayers to all the victims in Boston. Chris

Thanks Al, no reports yet of anyone I know among the injured.

Both bombs went off about 50 feet apart, a lot of rumors swirling around, was it one person, two or more, who knows.

Unreal.

Yeah bloody terrible news and images coming through......another cowardly act of violence targeting innocent people.

PS. Believe the explosion at the JFK Library is unrelated, and was an electrical transformer explosion. This is insanity, and I pray for those that have been harmed and families affected by this tragedy.

First thing I saw on News this morning.

Thoughts are with the people of Boston and the Emergency services.

As George says what is the world coming to. Cowards is a word that springs to mind.

Thanks for that, reports coming in two more bombs have been found around the city, seems like this was a large, coordinated citywide attack.

And to make a bad situation worse, reports are that one the two confirmed fatalities is a child.

An 8 year old.

Hi George,

I am glad to read that you and your family are safe.

Take care, Raymond.

Sad day. This was a message event. Whoever did it wanted to maximize media coverage. So they have some kind of axe to grind. Wouldn't be surprised if it's some paranoid home grown type like the Atlanta bombing or McVeigh. Fortunately the explosive did not look that powerful or a whole lot more would have been hurt.

I thought I heard on the news that they had video of someone dropping a parcel or a bag in the exact area of the explosion...

I don't think any resources will be spared until they catch this guy...I hope it's just one individual...but it sounds too intricate for a solo job...
