On August 17th three TreeFrogers met up in New York to view the American Revolution Diorama and display at the New York Historical Society (Museum and Library).
Mark (RevWarBuff)
Andreas (Andanna)
Larry Allen (ME!)

The museum is on 170 Central Park West, NY, NY.

To see the Revolution exhibit at the NYHS go to: https://www.nyhistory.org/revsummer,
or just go to the main page of the museum (https://www.nyhistory.org) and go to Revolutionary Summer exhibit!

A wonderful diorama was built by OUR treefrog member Richard Schuster (nysoldier on the forum).

Many of the figures in the diorama are made by John Jenkins, to include his newest AWI figure --RIR-05 Private, Rhode Island Regiment 1781,
Continental Army.

IN addition, as you will see in the upcoming pictures, are many that I contributed from my King & Country AWI series (Rhode Island). As well I was honored to help by supplying some JJD tents. Most of the figures were from Richards collection to include JJD Saratoga sets, Britains and Frontline Figures.

Can you spot them?????

The diorama depicts the 1782 Encampment of the Continental Army at Verplanck's Point.

A special thanks goes out to Richard for his tremendous work in helping to organize this event and to the NYHS museum curator Mike Thorton. :salute::

It appears to be an exact replica of the ORIGINAL tent now owned by the Museum of the American Revolution in Philly!
As you will see in the up coming photos!!!

That's great Larry, keep us all posted in your pursuit of that one of a kind scratch built tent by John made specifically for this display...…………………..

I wish to thank Andreas for taking the group out for a "proper" Italian lunch at a nearby restaurant. I forget the name; maybe Andreas can remember.
Any how here we are about to stuff our faces ….

The first one is Mark (RevWarBuff) with his charming daughter Bethany.

And here is Andreas with his partner Kristen. No, he wasn't giving the waitress a hard time.

WOW! Thanks for sharing the photos! Looks like it was an excellent trip, and the diorama alone is worth the visit.

Hi, Brad. Yes a fun trip. To get to New York was a long trip from mid-coast Maine.

I had to drive from my house to Portland; take a Bus from Portland to Boston; take the Acela Train from Boston to New York, Penn Station then a cab from Penn station to my hotel. About 8-9 hours but all-in-all well worth it.

Richard did a tremendous job in design and construction.
Meeting up with a few froggers was fun. Hoping to do it again for the Museum of the American Revolution in Philly! That's your back yard …. wanna' join?
