Great set! Too bad about Col. Anthony Durnford. I read somewhere that he was killed!? I have the book Colenso & Durnford's War compiled by Colenso's daughter(Durnford's secret flame,he was already married) and Durnford's brother, Edward. I can't wait to sink my teeth into it!

While waiting for the next group of photos from Martin and hopefully some from 1879 thought I'd feature Colour-Sergeant A.Booth preparing to retreat and who was awarded the Victoria Cross for his conduct leading the retreat of the survivors from the Intombi River........The Lt.

Martyn, While I don't collect Zulu War soldiers, I've been immensely enjoying your pictures. I didn't realize the large variety of soldiers, poses and equipment existed. Beautiful collection.
