Trophy of Wales (1 Viewer)

Had no doubt 999th that you would keep your promise and thanks for doing so. Not having the storehouse I do have a number of it's figures with the older bases which included their names ranks and serive numbers. One of the figures I would like to put my hands on that I'm missing is the Reverenc Smith with the older base or without it and hopefully I'll run across him one these days. A while back I notice the storehouse by itself was sold on ebay wasn't aware of it being offered. Once again thanks for the photos.......The Lt.

999th,
Must chip in to back the Lt. up with more thank you's for posting this wily, elusive and magnificent set. I'm so glad that Lt. Charlie Pope left his starter Pip with Surgeon Reynolds on that fateful day, and what a help to the defence he was! I see the hospital set off to the right:cool: What a collection! Mike

Found a photo of TD1A Battle Strategy in the catalogue Len Taylor sent me along with my last order............The Lt.

That's the one, I've just got the map tables mixed up:eek:

Hi Guys,
Here's what I did with my Trophy Hospital set. So I could display without the attack of dust bunnies, I made an acrylic display case a little larger than the Hospital to house everything. Mike

Hi Mike

Great minds think alike, I have my King and Country set "Rough Riders storming San Juan Hill" inside a very similar case;)

Nicely done 1879 and noticed some goodies along with a box or two that seems yet to be open. Would be nice to close up photos of them........The Lt.

That was the original storehouse set. Len reworked it and the set 999th has posted in the new one. I have the new set but they never included the dog in it. I kept meaning to ask for one but never got round to it, too bad.
Great sets

Lt.,
For some reason, Joe, the 1st King's Dragoon Guards are IMHO the most animated of the Trophy figures and show the best motion and flair of all.
Did you know that only 24 KDG guys were present at Ulundi, all the others having been posted along the invasion route for security duty? I guess their claim to fame is the capture of Cetshwayo(not really a capture but a amicable negotiation, since the KDC Captain knew the King personally) Thanks for posting. Mike

Hi Joe

I love your pictures of the KDG, this is one of the sets I never got around to buying:(

Keep them coming

Cheers

Martyn

Joe, Did you hear that? All is not lost! Martyn has a weakness that we must
exploit! Like boxers in the ring, we see blood! (Just kidding, Martyn, You're the Champ) Mike

Boy Joe

You are giving John Ford a run for the money with those cavalry chargers:)

Hi Mike

Not just the KDG I also missed the " Abandon the hospital" set to.

:(:):)

The Guards toy soldier shop still have some King's dragoons on display or at least they did last weekend. But no abandon the hospital.

Noticed the KDG Officer and Bugler 999th which I'm lacking and a few other sets I'd love to have but can't fit them into my budget for the remainder of the year and next by which time they'll be long gone. Sad to hear Martyn that you've missed out on the Hospital and lacking the KDG's at this time.

Here's the extent of my Cavalry and you'll note 1879 I've a fifth of the KDG's that were at Ulundi.....The lt.

Hi Joe

My stupid fault:mad:, I decided to start collecting K&C and Trophy fell by the wayside.

Thanks, by the way, for posting that archive link in the Classifieds section, it has enabled me to see just what I am missing. The hunt for missing pieces adds to the fun of collecting.:)

That is another excellent picture by the way

Cheers

Martyn
