The Trophy sub-forum seems to be dominated by Zulu war enthusiasts just wondering whether anyone collects any of the other series.

I like the weighting on the poll options, it reminds me of "The Producers". Four of us have 50% each :D

A couple of poor souls have cast votes, but have zero percent.

For me, I look for the civilian pieces, because late Victorians or Edwardians can pass as civilians on the streets of Berlin just as well as on the streets of London, so they make good spectators at the Kaiser's birthday parade.

Prost!
Brad

I'm wondering if we should add a category for "I don't collect Trophy." I can add it if you wish. I voted for Sudan as I have a couple of the camels.

And also "I only sell Trophy on ebay", right Brad?
Nah, leave well enough alone...Mike

Mike,

Those aren't actually mine. I'm selling for a friend of mine, who has lots of Trophy. I'll be putting on some 24th Foot next, plus some Xmas sets. I actually own very little, just a couple of camels. Missed out on a Gordon of Khartoum set last weekend that went really cheaply.

Brad,
So that makes you a Trophy sudan collector! Saw Gordon on the Camel. almost took the plunge , but my callsign prohibits other eras, or all hell will break loose. Impatiently waiting for the 24th sets to go on ebay! Mike

Interesting to see quite a few Trophy collectors. I was only aware that Damian & The Lt collected them (brand new members excluded of course)

I just collect Trophy full stop.
All of the figures are great.
My Nile Gunboat came yesterday from a guy in NY. He couldn't get his reserve on e bay so I e mailed him and we made a deal.
Trophy was just great.

Hey, don't forget me:D. Actually I am strictly collecting Trophy at the moment and hope to get all the Zulu War stuff...and then GICOP comes along and just blows me out of the water:p.

Whooops sorry Mike, how could I forget you with all the goodies that you have posted. :(

I like Trophy but only have two Zulu sets.

The Photographer set and War Strategy Set.

Mainly collecting Little Legion, but I always like to see all of the old Trophy sets.

I am resisting the urge to collect Trophy but my strength is fading.

Brian,
You can't hold out much longer, all your strength is gone. Let the force embrace you, you know you want to be a Trophy master. Come, Come, be as one with these fine beauties.

Mike,

I discovered that I have three sets.

1. Strategy Set
2. Trophy of War
3. Field Kitchen Set

It is all I can do to control my purchases of LL figures. I have a hard time finding Trophy sets. I did not see any at the OSTN this year and I hate to get into bidding wars on EBAY.

Brian

Hello,

I just joined the forum on 27 Dec 08, so I am the "NKOB".

Trophy of Wales is way in front as my favourite manufacturer.

Len Taylor arguably made the finest 54 mm gloss figures of all time.

Just in case anyone is wondering, I am the 19th voter on the Trophy Poll.

A Very Happy New Year to one and all !!

glossman,
Welcome aboard! I and others must agree with you that Trophy is what gloss toy soldiers is/was all about. Looking forward to you posting and pictures of your guys.:)
Happy New Year !!
Mike
