Today was a good day: I also picked up GW21 or GW21V German Guard Pioneer Flame Thrower Squad wearing Steel Helmets (I had the set wearing Pickelhaubes) as well as a second set of GW18 (German attack on the Western Front).

Louis,Apparently, we are the last two beings on this earth collecting WW1.I am doing a 1918 St.-Mihiel barnburner in 54mm.Thousands of figures and over 150 buildings. Helps to keep my bank account in a constant state of shock.

Great fun,eh laddie?

Take care......

As you know, while Len made excellent British Heavy and Field Artillery for his Great War series, he made none for the central powers. I Managed to pick up this Skoda Mortar from Superior Toy company made in the 1970’s. The gun is in excellent condition and the barrel elevation gears work fine. I am working with our good friend John (Obee) to obtain the appropriate crew. Like the German field gun and crew, I have asked John that he assemble and paint the crew to his usual superior standards to match the glossy style of Trophy.

This is the kit that was reissued as the Skoda Mortar by Bill Schommer many moons ago. It is a great kit, I think I have about 3 versions , the Toy Soldier Reissue, the original kit painted with original crew mounted in a museum dio setting as well as one or 2 John Eden Versions done by John a number of years ago. Cool artillery and nice pickup!

I managed to pick up the "Long Range Snipers" set (the last of the Lorry's I needed) and a second Serchlight Lorry (I got the searchlight lorry "buy-it-now" on eBay and the seller contacted me and offered me a "buy-it-now" on the Long Range Snipers, which he had up for bids).

I would be willing to trade the extra Searchlight Lorry to someone who has one or more of the Trophy WWI sets I am still looking for:

GWH2 (Cold Steel!)
GWH3 (Drop the Spade!)

Thank you, Martyn!😎😎. You know you were the one that got me started collecting Trophy WWI when you posted a photo of the catalog page with the EQ sets about 5 years ago. I couldn’t resist the lorries and the big gun sets. It may take me another 5 years but I am committed to obtaining every WWI set Len made.
