Great stuff Martyn. Thanks very much for posting. Where did you get the photos from. Did you take them on visit to Zululand?

Who needs bullets when you have a bayonet?

Two mates fight to the end, back to back with no ammo but with a bayonet each, they mean to make the Zulus pay dearly.

Martyn,

Very nice, I see they got caught in the high grass, making a run to Fugitives Drift.

Martyn,
You really have made the leap into dioramas and action! Isn't it so much better than just simply collecting? Always enjoyable.....

Absolutely agree Mike, glad you liked it.;)

You probably noticed that one of the 24th is the same figure as the RA gunner in "The Lost Gun" but with a 24th paint job.

When you get so many excellent pictures appearing on this forum it just gives me some great ideas.

.........and there appears to be no end in sight of your collection  :)

Thanks for taking the time to enlighten the great unwashed (Me!) with these wonderful figures.

Just out of curiosity did Trophy ever supply castings? I suspect no.

You suspected correctly Jeff and wished he had. Martyn what else can I say that I haven't already other than please continue with you photo dios and story lines. It's great seeing you putting together various scenes using figures from selected sets to achieve them. I'm having fun figuring out what sets their coming from......The Lt.

Many thanks Joe, Jeff and Scott for your kind remarks.

I'm getting great fun out of setting up and taking the pictures.

Cheers

Martyn,
Great to see a story-line that is a little different than the typical 24th Regiment's fight for life! And to think that cattle were the currency and spoils of the day!

A wonderfully original group of scenes. Glad to see you take the bull by the horns so to speak:D

I have a "riddle me this, riddle me that" problem. I have two sets Hand to Hand HZ5 and HZ 13. Both are marked by boxes. My question is-They appear the same , same poses on Britiah and Zulu, the walls are similar, except HZ13 has a Trophy label on the bottom, and the only real difference is the loin cover is different on the two:confused: HZ5 is on the left, HZ13 is starboard. Anyone know why there is two #s for the same looking set?
Mike

Mike,

I have to pass on this one as I have neither HZ5 nor HZ13:eek:.

You need the experts in the Lt and Martyn to solve this one:cool:.

Hi Mike

This is the official HZ5, my set

http://www.treefrogtreasures.com/forum/picture.php?pictureid=4565&albumid=303&dl=1231339558&thumb=1

Lt. Melville in his valiant attempt to save the Queen’s Colour, shoot’s the nearest Zulu.

This is my HZ13, also the official set

http://www.treefrogtreasures.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=303&pictureid=4557

My Zulu figure is the same as your one on the left. It is nice having a figure painted slightly different as it then gives you a new figure. Your figures on the right are also HZ13, but in the wrong box by the look of things

I have pictured all HZ sets 1 thru 18 in my “Albums”

Hope this helps

Cheers

Martyn:)
