Trophy - zulu war sets (1 Viewer)

Martyn,

Thanks for the update:).

I have seen Set SRD listed on the Trophy of Texas website for sometime now. It has been not in stock for as long as I can remember.

If I am not wrong, this refers to the 16 figure set, the images of which I have posted.

Set HAD "Abandon the Hospital" is listed just above it and is also not available.

Mike Laeding used to have quite a few Zulu sets in stock about 2 to 3 years back. These rapidly sold out in about 2006/2007.

He had some great images, but only for the sets in stock.

When I last checked the website, there was Set ZS52 in stock;).

Cheers, Raymond:).

Raymond,
It is almost a lost cause dealing with Mike L. these days. He doesn't answer anything, and when he does it's his Blackbery with an auto response. He did tell me last week that he has a Zulu set#17A left and that's it . It was like pulling teeth, my own!
Mike

Hi Raymond

Looks like ZS52 has sold

Mike,

Keep an eye on the Belgian website that I wrote about in one of my postings.

It was loaded with Trophy Zulu War sets before Christmas, but there is not even one set left now. I hope they will re-stock.

It will certainly help buying if you speak French.

Martyn,

Sorry about ZS52. I think this set is one you do not have as yet.

I saw one on eBay about 6 months ago. It was sold needless to say.

Best, Raymond

ZS52 "Hookey Leads Them Out"

From Left to Right:

Dr. James Henry Reynolds, VC, BA, MB ChB. (Army Hospital Corps)
Ag Asst Commissary James Langley Dalton, VC. (Commissariat & Transport Dept)
Private Alfred Henry Hook, VC (2nd Bn/24th Regt) helping Private John Connelly
Private John Williams, VC (2nd Bn/24th Regt)
Private Frederick Hitch, VC (2nd Bn/24th Regt)

I posted an image of Set ZS52 previously in the Lt's thread.

This image is slightly better with the storehouse in the background.

Best, Raymond.

Very nice Raymond, a set I am looking for.

All the figures appear individually in the VC winners series except HOOK and CONNELLY for some reason:mad:

Cheers

Martyn:)

I posted these in another thread but as they are all Trophy AZW figures I thought I would add them here as well

Hi Martyn,

Thanks for your comments.

Hook and Connelly are molded as one ie: virtually "Siamese Twins" in ZS52.

Len Taylor could have made separate figures for these two.

If I recall, you may have a Private Hook stand alone in your set.

Best, Raymond:).

Raymond,

That Private J. Williams that you have looks a lot like Intombi hero Colour Sgt. Boothe!

More great snaps, sets and figures Martyn. I like the one on horseback. You can almost feel the element of surprise.

I love your setup. Can you pull back your camera to show us how it is set up and its actual size? Is it permanent?

Thanks,

Randy

P.S. Does GICOP mean you were a 'redcap'?

Thank you Scott, I borrowed the idea for the Vedette picture from this one in the ILN

Hi Randy

None of the layouts are permanent, here is a picture of a similar scene before I trimmed the size.

The GICOP is from my other hobby of collecting WW2 memorabilia inc MP items, it is also the reg plate on my car:D

Continuing kudos and affirmations to you on your "work"!
I notice that the bases of the figures are covered by the woodlandscenics stuff. Is it hard to get off after you're done with the figure?

No problem to get off at all, it is just "sprinkled" on so to speak and then falls off the base when the figure is picked up

Thanks Martyn for sharing. That's the same size backdrop I am using. I'd lkke to find something wider and hope that Hudson & Allyn will issue prints of some of Ken's backdrops. I feel that with so many of us making photo-dioramas it would be a good market don't you think? I bet with GICOP on your plate you never get a ticket:D

Hi Randy

It would be a great idea if some of the backdrops were available to purchase.

My wife is convinced the plate has an influence with Surrey Constabulary:D

Mike,

Between the two figures, I think Col-Sgt Booth looks more impressive.

Just can't stop admiring your zululand country side and "magic water".

Raymond.

Martyn's Magic Rocks!!
No dust or anything? I'll be placing my order soon enough. Breaking Tip!
