Uh ok but not if I have to kill the queen or members of the Royal family. Sure an Irishman has to draw a line somewhere.

And here is the latest addition.

This one differs from one I have a picture of as this one has a rifle attached to the base.

Martyn,

Great find does this only leave three left to complete the "ULTIMATE ZULU WAR TROPHY COLLECTION" and this is not to say that you do not have the best Trophy Collection now.

Any new information on Set ZS38, was it made?

Once again, Thank you, for your help.:D

A good looking set Martyn, nice acquisition.

Thank you Mike and Brian, it does mean that there are 3 sets left and they are all fairly recent, by Trophy standards;) HZ21, ZS55 and ZS74

No more definite news yet on ZS38, I would love to see photographic evidence and Mike (1879fanatic) is on the case:cool:

Bet you are looking forward to the Postmans knock Brian:D

Cheers

Martyn:)

Thanks Damian, by the way, do you have a Trophy Arab Dhow and if so could you post a couple of pictures of it?

Cheers

Martyn:)

To my chagrin no.
I have some pics which I can try and dig up.
The guy who sold me the Gunboat listed the Dhow and gunboat on e bay.
The Dhow went, but the gunboat did not reach it's reserve.
That is when the circling hawk made his move.
I have hit a bit of a motherload with that seller and there is something waiting for me down at the Post Office tomorrow form him.
Regards

Hi Martyn,

Thanks for posting these excellent pictures of Durnford's Last Stand.

I have a question. Is the colour of the base of your Durnford figure brown ?

The base of my Durnford figure is brown and I just can't figure out why the anomaly.

Cheers, Raymond.

:)

Hi Raymond

Glad you like the scene and thank you for your kind comments.

The base of my Durnford figure is brown as the original wagon was brown but I had Len at Trophy paint my wagon grey to match the rest of the wagons I already had, well spotted;)

Cheers

Martyn,

Thanks very much for your prompt reply and kind words.

This is an example of an exception to the general observation that Trophy figures of the Anglo-Zulu War have green bases, while those of the Egypt/Sudan Campaigns have brown bases.

However, it is an appropriate exception.

Cheers, Raymond.

Once again Len added another sneaky touch to a set Martyn . My set is without the rifle....The Lt

That's right Joe, the picture I had of this set had been kindly sent by your good self.

Found HZ17 at the London Toy Soldier Show, this one has the later style Zulu figure throwing an assegai which, until today, was missing from the collection:D

Mike,

The kneeling figure comes for EQ43 Field Kitchen and the mule may be from ? EQ16A.

It does help to have a Trophy catalogue or two.;);)

By the way, I could not figure out Norman Joplin's comment about "Medical related items".

Best, Raymond.

:)

Raymond,
That fella unloading the ammo is everywhere!
Norman is going through a large private collection to catalog it all. The collector was into medical themed toy soldiers.
Mike
