Martyn & Al,
Exceptional sets, gentlemen! My "Front Rank Reload " does not have a certificate either:(
Enjoy, Al!
Mike

Thank you very much, Martyn

My "Doctoring for War set" is #41. Do you know how many were made? 200?

Was Acting Assistant Commissary James Langley DALTON figure exclusive for
this set? Can you post a picture please. I will check he might be hiding inside the box :)

Did a storehouse , the redoubts, and the walls come in a separate box?

Al

I am pretty sure there were 200 made, though I could be wrong

Dalton is the last figure on the right pointing

The uniqueness of the Defence of Rorke’s Drift figures was the thickness of their bases and the fact that the details of each figure were marked on the bottom of each base

He appeared as a single figure in set#ZS66 and in the add on set to the second version of Defence of Rorke’s Drift, this set was called “Hookey leads them out” and is set#ZS52, but the bases were the standard ones

The Store house, stone walls and redoubt came in a separate box

Hope this helps

Cheers

Martyn:)

Thank you, Martyn. You always amaze me with your deep knowledge on the subject of Trophy soldiers.

These are two more sets from this collection.: ZM55 & ZM56.

I can post a list here (about 50 items) or send you a PM.

Al

These are 3 largest Zulu war sets I got lately....A box size is app. 20" by 13", they are the largest Trophy boxes I have seen so far.

1. The Rorke's drift set, no number on the box just a red label as seen on the picture, it also came with a Storehouse (without a box), I wonder what is missing? (brick walls ?)...and what is a set number? This box was never "unpacked" and it's in condition, it left Trophy factory many years ago...

2. BBZ1Y , no name on it, was it a limited edition? no certificate inside this box.

3. BBZ2Y "Doctoring For War". This is the only large set with a signed certificate.

More pictures are coming soon...

Al

Hi Al,

Congratulations on your Trophy Big Box acquisitions.

The Trophy BB sets are rather special and not too many of these sets were made.

The first set ZDRDD "Storehouse at the Drift" was packed in multiple boxes, but not all came with the Big Box.

Martyn has posted some excellent photos of his ZDRDD set with the boxes in an earlier post in this thread.

The second set BBZ1Y is "Front Rank Reload" as Martyn and Mike have already pointed out.

Best Wishes, Raymond.:)

Thank you, Raymond for your comments.
Now I am trying to get "missing" parts (redoubts and walls) for this set quickly. I like Big Boxes, these 3 will be a good addition to my ACW BBs.

Hi Martyn,

The inventory list for the ZDRDD set is a must.

It appears that only you have it in your set.

Thanks, Raymond.:)

Very nice Damian ;)

I think I spy

1 x Indlu-Yengwe Regt set#ZS16A

1 x Amaphela Regt set#ZS15A

And the Officer defending the ambulance, armed with a pistol instead of a sword, from set#TD4A

Cheers

Martyn:)

You are as always spot on.
I picked these up loose.
When did the ambulance set get a pistol instead of a sword?

I'm not sure if there was a change, he could have been a "special". I am pretty sure he was part of early Command sets, I have the same figure as a RMLI Officer in the Sudan and Lawrence Lo has him in his 66th Command set.

Cheers

Martyn:)
