Trophy - zulu war sets (1 Viewer)

Had a hunch you were in hibernation due to the cold Martyn but it sure is nice seeing you come out of it. By the way 1879 be aware of a possible attempt of the package not reaching New jersey should he decide to grant your wishes. Seems like we're beating you to the punch Martyn with the arrival of more snow. We're in for a wet one tonight and into tomorrow with projection 6". As always great seeing the sets that come out of your Trophy's Treasure Chest......... Joe

Martyn,
Oh goodie! I will wait impatiently for the pictures of this all elusive set!
Mike

Hello Martyn,

What a coincidence :) ...I acquired a large Trophy collection at the local auction over the weekend: mostly Zulu war and Raj ranges. A set EQ36 was among them! I have never owned it before...

This collection includes some unusual sets, I will post their pictures shortly...

Could you check set ZEQ1B in your catalogs , please? ... I have not found any reference to this set. I came in early large "castle" Trophy box.

Al,
Can't wait to see your treasures as well! What auction were you at down there?

Hi Al

Set#ZEQ1B = MOUNTED ROYAL FIELD ARTILLERY consisting of a Field Gun and Limber with six horses, together with three riders and four seated Gunners.

I would love to see pictures of the sets you purchased or even a list. Will you be selling them and did it include ZS74 - THE ONLY ONE.;)

Cheers

Hello Martyn,
Thank you for the reference.
I hope to sort them out over this weekend, and post pictures then or sooner... I will sell only dups if any and check for a set ZS74 indeed :)

Mike
It was small auction in PA ... but it was not a toy soldiers auction, toy soldiers were just kind of "have to sell along with good stuff" there :)

Thanks Martyn...what a nice set to complete!
I still need the mules!
Mike

Glad you like it Mike, had an idea you might;)

When Lynn is back from his South Pacific jaunt I will get down to Finchhampstead for another scavenger hunt and see if I can turn up any more mules

Cheers

Great sets Martyn
Boerboy looking forward to your pics.
I managed to find the two gunners for the rocket set but am still looking for the two rockets launchers. O h well
Just a note about Martyn's prices for 1991. I know we all look back with rose tinted glasses but those prices were not cheap back then.
So in some ways the current e bay prices are not completely over the top.
Anyway thnaks for psoting guys.

Notice Len Taylor paid a vist to this thread earlier this morning so it seems his intrest has got him peaking in which is nice to note.

Here they are Mike, note the Zulu is unique to this set

Great sets Martyn !!! I hope we see something similar in the WB lineup. This would also be a nice set to see again by Ken Jackson.

Thanks Damian, Scott and Joe, I'm glad you like them

These are 3 largest Zulu war sets I got lately....A box size is app. 20" by 13", they are the largest Trophy boxes I have seen so far.

1. The Rorke's drift set, no number on the box just a red label as seen on the picture, it also came with a Storehouse (without a box), I wonder what is missing? (brick walls ?)...and what is a set number? This box was never "unpacked" and it's in condition, it left Trophy factory many years ago...

2. BBZ1Y , no name on it, was it a limited edition? no certificate inside this box.

3. BBZ2Y "Doctoring For War". This is the only large set with a signed certificate.

More pictures are coming soon...

Al

Beautiful stuff Al,
I love to see it in the original boxes too. I did not know the Zulu War Dance came as a special set with a certificate.
