Very nice Martyn, the last is my favourite. I don't think I would like him washing that however :D

Martyn,

Thanks. I just love these pieces.

Gunner John Cantwell x 3, DCM.

Trooper Sydney Hunter x 2, killed in action.

Pvt James Chick x 1, killed in action.

Raymond.:)

Thank you Raymond, I'm glad you like this picture.

I found the duplicate figures for ADENDORF, TRP HUNTER, GNR CANTWELL x 2 at the last London Show and I put them in the line up to represent

Natal Mounted Police
Trooper Henry Lugg,
2nd Battalion 3rd Regiment Natal Native Contingent
Corporal John Wilson
Army Medical Department and Army Hospital Corps
Private Thomas Ludding
Private Michael McMahon

Nicely done and featured Martyn behind to two stack biscuit box wall that they stood behind as they did during the defense of the Mission Station. It's so nice seeing Trophy fighting on the two fronts you've been providing us with.

Martyn,

I think Michael McMahon held the rank of 2nd Corporal in the AHC.

He was awarded the DCM, but was stripped of the medal after he deserted his unit.

Raymond.

According to the research undertaken by Julian Whybra and Norman Holmes based on the Chard and Bromhead Rolls Michael McMahon 3359 is listed as a private base on The Roll of those present at Rorke's Drift 22/23 January 1879 which appears on the Rorke's Drift VC website. But both Adrian Greaves and Ian Knight show him as a Second Corporal in both of their books on his rank. Ahhh another tale to ponder.

Hello Lt.

Perhaps, Michael McMahon was demoted from 2nd Corporal to Private after he deserted.

It is unlikely there were 2 persons with the same name serving with the Army Hospital Corps at Rorke's Drift at that time.

Best Wishes, Raymond.:)

I must admit to nearly missing these as I was a bit involved with collecting several pre ordered items.

They will have my full attention next time;)

The set of "Defence of Rorke's Drift" figures (first issue) was £650.

Cheers

Thanks 999th for the photos and Maryn looks like your Trophy hunt was a major success and looking forward to seeing box sets making their debut. Seems like my three sort after figures are still evasive:(:(:(
