1st DRAGOON GUARDS pursue the Zulu after Ulundi


"On April 9th 1879, 643 men of the 1st Dragoon Guards under the command of Lt. Col. H. Alexander, arrived in Durban for service in the Zulu War as part of hastily gathered re-enforcement's, in response to the disastrous First Invasion of January. Posted by Squadrons along the line of advance, only 24 men under the command of Lt. Brewster, remained to join the final charge at Ulundi."....... info thanks to the 2001 Trophy catalogue.
