US/Israel Launches Op Epic Fury Against Iran (1 Viewer)

From what I understand this is all quiet normal with allies doing training in each other's ships, though I suppose there are more Australian, NZ, Canadian and British and other NATO Naval Officers on American ships than vice versa, simply because of there being more American ships.
Joint exercises and cross training has been in effect for decades, the more recent AUKUS Nuclear Submarine partnership involves Australian, UK and US only, in terms of which Australia will acquire its own Nuclear subs in due course. However a lot can change before that occurs as Countries and their politicians tend to change their minds, usually for 'political' reasons, time will tell as I previously said.

Same reason as Starmer, and it leaves a taste of disgust, for those who are not supporters of him and his kind, in the way they fail the people in their first duty of protecting our countries.
I didn't vote for our current Prime Minister, he's too Left for my taste, and as with most politicians his main concern is not Australia, it's covering his own political a$$ to ensure he gets re-elected. It should also be noted that Trump is not popular globally and many politicians want to distance themselves from his actions, especially if an action could be viewed as being 'controversial'.

I took the time to listen to a Raymond Ibrahim interview on Youtube. Very interesting and deep historical knowledge. I see where you're coming from. I don't have enough knowledge of History to argue against some of his points. But I would say for an historian he clearly has a Christian/West bias in what he says. Yes I guess it is true that a strict interpretation of Islam leads to atrocities against the West. But not all Muslims follow that interpretation, probably most of them don't. And strict interpretations of the Christian religion have led to atrocities from this side too (Inquisition, etc.). Don't misunderstand me, I don't buy the silly woke guilt and History revision stuff, in my view that's garbage. But in my opinion we in the West have not always been perfect too, to say the least.
Excellent points, not a popular opinion on this forum of course, especially in the present political situation.

I see that there is now growing evidence Russia and to a lesser extent China, are assisting Iran with satellite imagery and other such intel to help identify off shore targets.

We can only hope the regime runs out of missiles and drones sometime soon........
China and Russia are assisting Iran; gee, that's shocking, never saw that one coming.

Trump is not popular globally because he's not soft and does not cater to the whims of other leaders, handing out cash like it's going out of style, giving aid here, there and everywhere.

I may not agree with everything he does, but it's nice to see a president with a backbone vs someone who belongs in a nursing home.

You watch on the TV news they will interview "John Doe" about the rising cost of gas, say .25 cents a gallon you would think he was going to have to sell his children into slavery just to afford to buy gas! I don't like it but I would rather pay .25 cents more a gallon than have iran strike somewhere, any where with a nuclear bomb. All these cries about rising cost personally it has only effected me in 2 ways. Going out to eat cost more but that cost doesn't stop me and the one thing that I do not buy as much of is beef. Other than that I just live with it and don't complain. In fact no one who reads this forum should complain. If you have money to spend on toy soldiers you are not hurting! As for muslims, screw them. I don't know any nor do I care to know any. If they all went to meet their 72 virgins or whatever it is that they do is fine with me. I liked it better in my childhood days when all I thought they did was ride on a flying carpet.
You're missing the point; I fill my tank once a month, we go out to eat four times a month. Myself personally I could give a poo less if it costs me an extra 8.00 a month for gas or another 40.00 a month for meals....................the things that matter to voters are the economy, the border, foreign policy.

Foreign policy is dead last; what does matter is for someone who fills their tank once a week or has a family of four and when they go out to dinner he needs a second mortgage to pay the bill............come November, THOSE are the things voters care about, not that Iran MIGHT lob a nuke towards the US.

Unless you want to see the house and senate get flipped, you had better hope this war ends sooner than later and gas prices come down.

If not.............................

Agree 100%. That doesn't mean Iran is not important. Just that most voters are more concerned about grocery and energy prices etc. In a perfect world, these would not be mutually exclusive problems to be solved but the vast majority of people just don't care what happens elsewhere. Only after a 9/11 event do they wake up. It would only be after Iran drops a nuke that they suddenly would care. So the midterms are going to be a massacre. Not because the Dems have anything to offer but because most people blame the current administration for any perceived failures such as high costs. The longer this conflict drags on the worse it will be.

To further this, about 67% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck, let that sink in.

Those people care about gas prices and the cost of groceries and energy, not Iran or the threat of them dropping a nuke.

The AVERAGE American just does not care, period, full stop and yes, November is going to be a bloodbath.

George I agree 100% of what you are saying. But in reality those people really don't have a clue as they live in their own bubble. Plus most live pay check to pay check because for some they don't know how to manage their finances. I'm really cold blooded when it comes to handouts. Unless you have a physical disability you should get nothing from the government. If in fact, and I don't go along with it that all men are created equal, just go to Walmart, then having little or no money is on you. I also want this war to end quick, but for a selfish reason my portfolio is taking a big hit!

Don't worry about the shellacking your portfolio and everybody elses is taking, it's only a paper loss, just play the long game.................your portfolio took what, a 2% hit in a week, 6 months worth of gains wiped out in the blink of an eye.......................no big deal....................6 months from now it will bounce back as afterall, we all have all the time in the world to wait this stuff out..................right, sure we do.

The way Trump is going, gas will be more expensive than it was when Biden was president, I'm sure that won't matter come November.

"stock market...stock market...don't talk to me about stock markets"...

I'm getting crushed too...
I may be the one at Walmart greeting you at the door soon...

Yeah okay, you dragged me back into Politics, but it would be rude of me not to reply, wouldn't it.

If I was an American I imagine I would have been among the record 80 million that voted for Trump first time around, maybe even the 2nd time, as you suggested, the alternatives didn't seem that good imo. Biden obviously has some ageing probs, dementia or whatever, and there's no way he would have won an election in Australia, same as Trump, we would think they were both too old. That said it must take some guts for Biden to continue to support his party with speaches etc as he must realise he looks stupid and forgetful, and I'm thinking he is rich enough not to need the money for any 'paid' appearances.

Back to Trump, man where do I start, seemed like a good idea to vote for him at the time I guess. However there's now an increasing list of dumb things he has done, e.g. tarrifs, upsetting allies, etc etc. As for smashing Iran's Nuclear installations, fair enough provided it's not another 'Weapons of Mass Destruction' story, let's see if the future investigations will prove that. Then susbsequently he killed the Religious leader of Iran, the devil you know as they say, I predict more trouble from that than it was worth, watch this space.

Now we have an escalating conflict in the Middle East that will drag in more nations, if they want to or not. The restricted transport/travel for freight etc together with Military needs will continue to force Up the Oil and other Fuel prices, while Share prices will be in a Downhill slide, Global 'Stagflation' here we come. There's some silver linings for investors, the Gold price will boom along with shares in Military Manufacturing, get in early folks, but brace yourselves, I think it's going to be a bumpy ride.

In this past election, there were exactly two choices; Trump/Vance or Harris/Walz.

I voted for the Trump/Vance, had Harris/Walz won, as bad as you make things appear in this country as of 3/8/26, it would be 1000% worse had Harris/Walz won.

It begins and ends there; I'd love for someone to make a case that we'd be better off with Harris/Walz.

Because we wouldn't.

Full stop.

Okay, a good place to leave the discussion I guess, let's all hope for better times ahead.
