Hi Guys,
On HBO GO here in Hong Kong they’ve been showing this great Israeli series called ‘Valley of Tears’ about the 1973 Yom Kippur War.
I binge-watched all of the episodes over a couple of days some weeks back and have gone back to watch it again this past week.
The action, especially the close quarter infantry and the tank battles are terrific... Some of the melodrama I’m less impressed with but overall it’s still well worth watching.
Much of the action surrounds the exploits of a small troop of Israeli Centurion tanks up against hordes of Syrian armour on the Golan Heights.
The film makers managed to find some now-retired Centurions / S’hot tanks in the Israeli Tank Museum which were refurbished and re-engined and put into action once more.
Of course there’s a fair bit of CGI as well but it’s done really well.
Check it out if you can... At the same time it inspired me to put together another little IDF (Israeli Defence Forces) display using samples of the upcoming ‘European Walls and Gate’ with one of our ‘Desert Village’ Shop Houses. I reckon they go together well.
