Several weeks ago I installed a shelf area to display my John Jenkins Designs "Knights of the Sky" and "Great War" collection. I have enjoyed it so much I decided to install a similar shelf area for my W. Britain and Hudson & Allen collection. I finished installing the new display area last night and have spent a good part of today placing my WB ACW and Clash of Empires figures on the shelves as well as the WB and Hudson & Allen scenics I have. The shelving system is actually a closet organizer kit made by EASY TRACK. It is 48" high and 96" wide and each shelf is 14" deep. The center section of shelves is 24" wide and the L & R section of shelves are each 36" wide. I purchased this system from a local DIY home store (Menard's) but I also know it is available at the Home Depot (under the Martha Stewart Living brand) and also from Amazon. Below are some initial photos I took of the finished project . . . . As I get the time I will photograph a close-up of each shelf with a description of what is displayed and I will share them on this thread. I have a similar thread on the John Jenkins Designs forum for those that might be interested in looking . . . . . . . .

New display area . . . . much nicer and easier to view my collection compared to cabinet that they were previous in

Wonderful setup there, Mike! I look forward to seeing more photos of your collection in its new space. :)

What a great idea Mike. I have to steal this for my Zulus. Looks like customer cabinetry. Amazing collection as well.

Thanks Cameron, Scott, and Paul . . . .

Scott, . . . . . To install a shelf system like I have, you will need the following: EASY TRACK 4x8 Basic Starter Closet Set x 1, EASY TRACK 24" Shelves (4-Pack) x 1, EASY TRACK 35" Shelves (2-Pack) x 5, EASY TRACK 24" Rail Cover (2-Pack) x 1, and EASY TRACK 35" Rail Cover (2-Pack) x 1.

The system comes in White, Black, Cherry, and Oak . . . . . I decided on White because I felt that it would display/show my collection better and the white blended nicely with the white walls of my hobby room.

Thank you Martyn, Mark, and AC . . . . .

I also collect W.Britain WWI . . . . . . The trench system for this range is almost 32-inches deep and requires a display area much larger than what these shelves provide. Currently I have this collection displayed on a table placed against the wall opposite of my JJD display shelves. I had to pull this table out from the wall by 2-inches in order for the trench sections to fit without hanging over the edge of the table.

Mike,
Are you still collecting FL,WWII?
Mark

I have a small collection of FL DAK (1 AFV, 2 motorcycle's and several figures) which make up a Recon unit and are just enough for what I needed to use with a desert dio I made several years ago. These with the desert dio are displayed on another table in the room.

Wonderful display Mike. Nice center piece with your H&A diorama board. Well done. Chris

Mike, a fantastic set up and appreciate the close up of the displays. What a great idea using teh shelves and the white does set off the figures. It is just amazing the size of your collection I would be interested in the 7th OVI figures if you want to get rid of them. I am always looking for figures to fill out the ranks. Send me a PM and we can work out the details. Yours for the Union, Chris
