Severe cold temperatures arrived here last night. It is currently -9F here this morning as I write the with a wind chill factor of -19F . . . . . Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Needless to say I will not be going outside today. I am getting way to old for this kind of weather . . . .

Move to NJ Mike. Tomorrow it’s going to be between 7 and 22. Positively balmy!

Be careful of getting a sun burn Brad while enjoying all that balmy weather. . . . .

When I used to visit our plant at Rouses Point, NY, near the Canadian border (sort of south of Montreal), it could be -30. As I was driving to the plant I’d see people ice fishing (which looks pretty neat).

WOW not sure I'd like those lows temps, I remember Rev Pete talking about Ice Fishing earlier in TF history, at least you wouldn't need a fridge for the beer.

On the Sunshine Coast here it's a balmy 23 C and plenty of fish in the river.

it was -6 in Chicago this morning at least there was no traffic on my drive to work. It warmed up on my drive home it was only 0.

It''s -20C (-3F) and going down to -25C (-13) overnight but tomorrow night will be a more seasonal -31C (-24F) ^&cool No warming trend for at least 2 weeks but not a concern until it goes to -40C.

I bet in weather like that there's a lot of scale issues due to shrinkage; what was once 1/30th scale in July is now 1/72nd scale, hope that doesn't cause too many problems as you know how correctly advertised scale is a big hot button for some of the more knowledgeable fellas out there................AMIRITE?

Actually, we've been known to put the beer in a cooler...to let the 'warm' air from the house keep it from freezing!

From the East Coast of Canada.
-18C with windchill of -31C
Countdown to trip south us on !

Operation Deep Freeze still continues here in south-central Wisconsin. -9F again this morning with a wind chill of -18F. My neighbor and I tried to exchange greetings this morning as we both went out at the same time to get the morning newspaper. Our words froze the instant they came out of our mouths and dropped to the icy ground below. Interested in what my neighbor had said, I quickly gathered his words up and took them inside to thaw out. Unfortunately his words thawed out in the wrong order as spoken and I couldn't make sense of any of it. Now by golly that's cold . . . . :tongue: :rolleyes2:

Midcoast Maine was about -10 last night and is now -2.

The biggest issue is the "wet" snow we had for Christmas day has turned into a massive ICE pack.
The driveway is a challenge to navigate; I've broken one shovel trying to chip away the ice and my car will now be uncovered until spring.

AND ... we are only 6 days into winter .... {sm2}

LARRY!

I got to agree with George on this one...you need to sort out that driveway something fierce. After all these years of ice pack you don't have one of those snow blowers?
