Welcome to the Deep Freeze (2 Viewers)

And yes, the cookies were made by Aileen. If you behave yourself I "might" :rolleyes2: bring another batch for you at the Valley Forge show.
Is there anybody here who thinks George can behave for 7 weeks ...:tongue:

That depends on the standard being used to measure. If the bar is low enough... ^&grin

Many, many thanks for the words, gentlemen.

Although we have more snow that night, we had no issue getting to the hospital by 6:00 AM.
The Waldoboro police called at 5:50AM to check up and verify we were fine. I brought them down a plate of cookies today as a thank you; which they were surprised at, but readily devoured ...^&grin

Yes, the 5 hour procedure went very smoothly. Total knee replacement, which is amazing. She is doing wonderful.

The F&%$ing insurance called the hospital today and wanted to her sent home .... :mad: ... AFTER ONLY 24 hours!!!!!!!
Thankfully, we have the top orthopedic surgeon in the state so he told them to "Go to <a very hot place>"
Hopefully she can leave the hospital on Monday or Tuesday.

PS: I still hate my own cooking. Anyone have any good recipes for Pop Tarts!{sm2}

I've got a ton of delicious leftovers from the Symposium . . . want me to overnight you some sustenance?{sm4}

Brutal cold, overcast, and grim here again today. We have missed most of the big snow storms though. Gettysburg on a raw Monday in the off season is a depressing place. Most of the local businesses close on Monday and and the masses of school buses that come for field trips have not quite got rolling. It was empty and desolate today. The town has always had a bit of a dingy feel to it to me. Nothing like Williamsburg, VA which you would think might be a good comparison. Battlefield aside, GB itself is a dump by comparison. I'm not sure exactly why they could never translate the tourist industry into a better economic stimulus for the town but it hasn't happened. Sounds like the NE is going to get pounded one more time before all is said and done. Hopefully that will be the end of winter.

And here we go again! 8-12 forecasted tonight and through tomorrow! I just wanna play golf already!!! 😉

Good luck to you guys. We’re not expected to receive more than a couple of itches.

8-12; I'm moving to your neighborhood, their calling for 14-18 here, starting tonight around 9:00pm and going through till tomorrow night around 7:00pm or so.

What a mess. I knew we were screwed when the moron weathermen on the local news were downplaying this one saying most of the models showed it going out to sea; yeah right, sure it is.

February was a day at the beach compared to March...............not to mention they are calling for another Nor'easter next Tuesday, that's four in a row.

Unbelievable.

Gee Louis ... Thank You for the offer.

Let see, given perfect weather the trip would be .... ummmm .... a bout ..... 6 hours and 45 min. :rolleyes2:

BUT ... given the fact of 14" - 18" of snow starting about NOW it might take me 3 days. However, I would probably starve or freeze to death when I got stranded on the NJ Parkway and George would be mad at you since he would now have to go out and find a new TS Show booth helper on short notice!

Oh ya' and then no more cookies for George .....{eek3}

I have may declared victory over winter too soon. Calling for a snow storm early next week in old PA. Maybe starting on Tuesday and continuing for a couple of days. Of course that could mean a couple inches or feet at this point since it is still in the works.

Early indications seem to indicate 5-8 inches on both Tuesday and Wednesday.

Sounds like the next storm might be moving further south down in the DC area. We have narrowly missed every big snow event so far. The cold is lingering though.

File under Here We Go Again Department: a winter storm warning is in effect for this evening until Thursday morning, with accumulations in the 8-14 inches range.

I surveyed our property this weekend and we have some very large branches that broke off, some too heavy too easily move. One fell on the pool cover. It's hard to tell if it pierced the cover as it's frozen to the cover.

Looks like the First Day of Spring will bring the DC metro area it's worst storm of the 'winter'. We are due to get up to 8" of snow between now and the end of the storm tomorrow. You gotta love the weather in the mid-Atlantic region. Wait 5 minutes and it will change. Oh well, 9 days to Opening Day so keep the snow blowers on stand-by, and Play Ball! :rolleyes2: -- Al

The forecast for us has been all over the place. First maybe a foot. Then maybe nothing. Now we are the razor's edge between 4 and 10 inches but not a single flake so far this morning. A few miles one way or the other makes a big difference in a storm like this.

We're, Wilmington Del., in the bulls eye too this time; maybe a foot after it's done. Lacrosse fields have been a nightmare this month just from the 3" snowfalls we've had, way behind the curve going into games this coming weekend. And this one should bury us for the weekend. But that's just sports. Feel bad for those who've been completely buried, like Maine, New Hampshire, and Mass. I'm sure you're way beyond tired of digging out.

We are supposed to get 8-14. Its weird, we had the warmest February on record, and four nor'easters in the first three weeks of March!{eek3}

The weather people now say 12" in my area. Oh boy. -- Al
