"Bones and All." A well-acted horror flick. A cannibal love story may not be for everyone, but it is well done. On MGM+.

Watching Blake's 7, a classic Sci Fi TV series.

Servalan was such a Biatch ^&grin

Okay man, call me crazy but there's very little on prime time TV worth watching these days.

Heck, even America professional sports has gone WOKE...No sanctuary there either.

So, I'm stuck in time watching old black & white TV programs from a galaxy far away that time has forgotten....like what you might say?

12 O'Clock High, Combat, The Fugitive, Film Noir movies, TV Westerns and yes, Captain Kirk (Star Trek)...it's been great.

Here is an old little TV series that I found and love "The Lieutenant".

I agree with you. There is hardly anything on anymore that's decent. I watch no scripted shows on NBC,CBS,ABC, Fox and CW.I watch a little show on MGM+ called From from the creators of Lost.

I do watch Yellowstone and the prequels 1883 and 1923 when they're running.

"Blood and Gold" on Netflix. A WWII German action film. Completely unrealistic but the bad guys are sinister and there is a lot of shooting. So it's more entertaining than 98% of the other stuff on Netflix.

Sounds like my viewing list, as well. I still watch all of these, along with MLB, but I avoid pre and post game shows like the plague as I despise all the betting/gambling ads and refrences which now seem to rule the roost in baseball. As a matter of interest, Combat! has always been my favorite show and I have watched it since it's 1962 premier. Along with westerns and film noir, Combat! never gets old. -- Al

Love Blake 7, but was not happy with the ending. I thought the storyline or lack thereof showed.

Cheers,

I agree, I believe they wanted a quick resolution as the show was cancelled. It was certainly a depressing ending, however to be honest it was likely considering their history of arguing, jealousy and distrust over previous years.

You have a point there in the latter part of your reply.

There was some talk about a continuation of the series where Avon and Vila survived the shootout but Terry Nation was apparently too busy with other projects to commit. Jenna and Soolin were great eye candy but my favorite characters were Avon and Vila, would have been great to set them continue. Avon was often played a bit over the top by Paul Darrow, I was surprised at his comedic skill at subsequent sci fi conventions.

The two members Avon and Vila are polar opposites ,however, with their skills and craft combined they would have been made a good team. I like Paul Darrow for his craft.

Also Binge watching 'Supernatural' on Binge, it's been awhile since I've watched it.

And what's not to like about this long running (15 years) TV series, Rock Music, Muscle Cars, Hot Chicks, Demons/Angels, etc etc ^&grin

I loved Supernatural but didn't care for the Winchesters which was canceled after 1 season anyway.

Catching up on the Star Wars adventures. Just watched the Bad Batch which was entertaining. Waiting for season two to be released on dvd. I'll then look to purchasing Star Wars Rebels.

Good taste Oz and Grey!
And yeah, they really wrote themselves into a corner but it was a fun ride!
Beware the Federation or whatever Servalan's in charge of...

Hi Paddy, Blakes Seven was certainly a fun ride.

I suspect the writers spent several hours on scenarios that allowed Servalan to survive to the next episode. As a child she reminded me of Dr Smith in Lost in Space, it would have been simpler to just shoot both of them, why didn't they just do that? :wink2: ^&grin

When I was a kid it took me a while to understand that Ming the Merciless had to come back from whatever supernova last finished him off no matter what. But he had to come back by popular demand!
Blakes confused me even more. I had several questions; foremost being where in the galaxy is Blake after a while?! I recall thinking at some point it should be called Avon's 5 or something...
But I did like Servalan, Avon and Villa in particular and the whole show in general. It's like Doctor Who pretending to be an adult sci-fi. Silly at times, but, again, the ride is fun and I guess that's what sci-fi is about (certainly not realism - or in Blakes case a budget).

So Best Wishes my fellow Blakes 7 fans. Finding the genius in quirky shows (and novels) is a fun hobby!
Paddy

P.S. Watch out for Servalan! Travis is clearly never gonna' get it done...

Pat, as a youngster I mainly liked to watch Jenna and then Soolin ^&grin I'm sure the producers had a good idea what some of the demographic were interested in, even Servalan was braless in a few episodes, and Dayna almost always forgot to put her bra on ^&grin I recall Dayna chasing Servalan across some sand dunes in one episode, a wonder they didn't knock themselves out {eek3} Couldn't do that today, way too politically incorrect, back then it was 'Liberating', see what I did there ha ha

That said I agree that Villa was my favourite character, Avon a close second, although his acting could get a bit over the top. Villa of course was meant to be the coward of the crew, I would call him sensible considering the number of pointlessly dangerous missions they carried out, and of course all the crew ended up dead, sooner or later, a dark TV series for its day.
