Toddy mate,

You and me both cobber. Season 5, Episodes 1 & 2 are up in about 2 hours here. That Taylor Sheridan is a genius. Love Yellowstone and 1883 and have just finished watching today the first episode of the new show, Tulsa King, a new series by him with Sylvester Stallone, the gangster. I see that 1923 a follow up to 1883 is due to be released on 18th December.

I hope you get all these shows across the Ditch. Cheers Howard

Howard mate, Yellowstone season 5 is also kicking off here in NZ with double episodes this evening too.

Have thoroughly enjoyed this series from the start.

Haven't seen 1883 screen here yet, but sure it will.

Definitely looking forward to '1923'.

Cheers.

PS. Can't believe the 'Rogue Hero's' series has only featured here 'on demand' rather on main-screen.

Yeah Bosch is terrific, believable dialogue etc, etc.

It's now rare to find a TV series or movie that doesn't rely on action 24/7.

It's also rare for my Brother to recommend something that I like. His last recommendation wasn't quite so well received being a British Detective Mystery series called 'Strike', which was apparently adapted from novels by R K Rowling. I'm not saying it was bad, just that I found the series rather slow and the 'Villians' were too easy to identify.

I thought 1883 was very good. They are suppose to do a few more episodes.

The Hunted, an American/Japanese Movie released in 1995. It's one of my favorite (B grade) movies that I watched back in the VHS video era, haven't seen it for years. It has a Last of the Samurai vibe, not a box office success I guess, but a hidden gem imo, I'll have to see if I can find it to stream or on DVD.

One of my favorite films, from acting to storyline to musical score, this film is superb. Bud White is a valuable officer... -- Al

Certainly one of my favorites as well Al, complete with some Aussie actors in early roles.

LA Confidential put Guy Pierce and Russell Crowe on my radar screen and I have enjoyed many of their works since LA C. Pierce was outstanding in The Proposition and Crowe has made some superb films that I have really liked such as A Beautiful Mind, Cinderella Man, and, or course, Master and Commander. Great actors. -- Al

"Don't Pick Up the Phone." An unreal true crime documentary on Netflix about some guy who spent years calling random fast-food places and telling the managers that he was from the police. He instructed them to strip search various employees and some complied. You can't make that up.

SPOILER: they finally caught the guy but he was acquitted of the charges. Only in America.

Liking the third series of Vienna Blood, episode 2 last night was pretty good I thought.

There was actually a movie about that, maybe what you watched. Groundskeeper at a McDonalds strip searched a female employee and rec'd prison time. McDonalds had even put out a memo warning employees. Like you said, weird.

Anything, History or Historical Fiction, involving Vikings, Saxons & Normans.
Any recommendations? This is a topic I know a decent but not comprehensive amount about.

I haven't watched a lot this year as they just don't seem to be making many good shows. Saying that there are so many stations and streaming services I'm sure there are many shows that I missed. The shows that I watched was Vikings Valhalla, Rogue Heroes, Billy The Kid, See, Outer Range ,Boundless, From, 1883, Yellowstone, Barbarians II, TWD
and probably more I can't think of. You will notice most of what I watch has a historical tint to them.

Oh yeah I can't forget House of the Dragon and The Last Kingdom.

Watching '6 Underground' again, some of the best car chases and action stunts you'll ever see.
