Mrs Simmo has been generous with the budget this year and I can look forward to unwrapping a K&C DD Bren Gun Team, a JJD Camel, JJD Highlanders, K&C WW1 a Conte Zulu Iduna and the K&C Bulge half-track prisoner set!

Quite a mixed bag but I have rearranged my shelves already to fit them in. Can't wait.

I know there are no surprises but I prefer it that way.

Anyone else eagerly awaiting Santa Claus?

One of my main gifts from my wife is the TG Dornier which, will come after Christmas. I don't really get TS for Christmas as I get them all year round well, odd ones. I have just treat myself to the FL prime mover which arrived yesterday so, a pressie to myself!! Mostly, its books from the very long list that I have hanging around somewhere. I have the leather bound limited edition PanzerKorps in the battle of Kharkov coming which is a nice find at a good price.

As a stocking stuffer i also got a 10 hour DVD series on WW2...

Looks like Santa this year will be wearing a King&Country patch on his Red Santa coat ! ^&grin

A new MG British Bren carrier, MG British Pak gun with Gunners (P) Crew. Wehrmacht new laying MG34 gunner. Looks like the big set will be the DD138 Landing craft with a whole set of D-Day U.S. troops to fill it .
To me for WWII the D-Day landings were one of the major events of the war in Europe. Almost let these D-Day sets get away !

Happy Holidays to All........ :salute::

I'm hoping the good Mrs. And Julie (treefrog) have some good presents under the tree for me, asked for some dio accessories from JG miniatures, W. Britians, and First Legion winter Russians, Waffen SS, and the American Normandy Machine gun team...Sammy

My son Alec picked out a wonderful Airfix HO/OO (1:76) scale "Battle of Britain Diorama Set", with a model of a Spitfire MK1a, a Bedford QL Fuel Bowser, an AEC Matador truck, and about 30 pilot and groundcrew figures. The set, which comes with paint, glue, brushes, and a diorama base, was less than $30. My only concern is that when we build and paint it together, I am going to go blind.{eek3}

Bushy Run.jpg

My wife gave A Troiani framed print of The Battle of Bushy Run. Believe it or not she found it at a Garage sale. She had no idea what it was or by who but thought I'd like it. Major score!Pennies on the dollar.{eek3}
I usually give her grief about hitting all those yard sales. I'll keep my trap shut. Thank you Tracie!!!!!:salute::

Merry Christmas!

This is a real score. Congratulations. This is one of only 2 Troiani prints I still own and one of my all-time favorites by him. Great get by your wife. :salute:: -- Al

K&C's MK78 The Ambush for me, which will flesh my Crusade display out nicely. There was also a bit of money from Mom which wil go on the K&C camel drummer!

Santa brought me 7 K&C Alamo figures and 5 framed alamo art prints . I love Santa ......

Mrs Claus gave me 3 newly released WB ACW figs. Son gave me a KC WWII medic set and a 101st fig (he's in the 101st :smile2:). Chris

Well, I didn't quite go blind (although my vision did go blurry a couple of times as I painted the tiny pilot) but working together, Alec and I built, painted and decaled the Spitfire. I was really surprised and pleased with the result. Now we just have to build and paint two truck models, and paint the diorama base as well as the fifty or so pilots and ground crew:rolleyes2:. Well here is the Spitfire:

A couple of more shots of the Spitfire. If you look close, you can see I painted the minuscule pilot (my son ran upstairs and got one of my K&C Glossy RAF Pilots and demanded that I copy it, right down to the yellow Mae West, white shirt, and brown boots with white fur tops):
